I am currently planning our family trip for next Aug. Yes I am a avid planner. We have 9 total, 2 grandparents, 2 adult couples, 1 baby 18mos and 2 older teens. We are in need of a TS dinner (on dining plan) either in MK or around MK. We need something yummy, but a quicker type of meal, not character! My current thoughts are:

LTT- never been, but worried about the limited menu options
Kona- But we are already going for breakfast (gotta have my press pot)
Tonys- But DH and I go there every trip and really wanna try something new
Ohana- Just takes a long time (and DH and I have been there)
Wispering CC- Really wanted to try but I read some really bad reviews &
worried about transportation time

Here's my $.02.

If you are going to be at MK I wouldn't venture to a nearby resort. Even though it's just a hop on the monorail- you essentially could really lose an hour of your precious time traveling. I would stick at MK if you're going to be there.

Since you've already done Tony's a ton I'd say it's great to try something new. I think LTT Is a great option- I love the location and while the menu is sort of limited, it's a different sort of menu type than most the restaurants around so I don't really see that as a bad thing. Unless you just know for sure the people you're with won't like it.

The other option which you didn't list is the Plaza. May not be your thing but it's good food, a fairly quick sit down meal, and I think most people really enjoy it. Very laid back.

I would go with either LTT or the Plaza.
Oh and fwiw, i really enjoy WCC. My boys LOVE it and some of the food is def better than others but nothings horrible IMO. Andyou can NOT beat the milkshakes :)

I can tell you not to be worried about the reviews of WCC.

DH loves this restaurant, as do I. We have never had a bad experience in food or otherwise.

Infact, it was the only restaurant that went out of their way to celebrate our honeymoon. They gave us free desserts and a glass of champaigne. When we spoke with the manager to thank him and tell him they were the first to really acknowledge what we were celebrating he made a call that night to our resort and told them that.
The next day the resort left a message for us to call the desk it seems there was a package for us. As it turns out the resort felt bad that none of the other restaurants had made an effort to celebrate us and gave us 2 presents and a balloon bouquet. They also apologized, all because WCC's manager called them.

That is service!!! (and the food great, I highly recommend the ribeye or skillet)

I think liberty tree tavern is a good choice. ohana would be my first choice. but it REALLY takes a long time. you dont want to miss tooo much touring time. Liberty tree is likely to have something for everyone.

I love, love, love LTT! It has always been a favorite of mine and my family! We love the gravy. Yummy! I loved it more when it was a character meal, but we still go even though it isn't because we think the food is great.

We had a really bad experience last year at WCC. The service was terrible! There were lots of big parties there that night and it seemed like the server was just not up to the task of serving that many people. The food may have been okay, but it was cold before it was served to us and we were so mad over the poor service that we couldn't judge the food quality fairly because of this. We have never, ever had as bad as service as we did there. That includes in and out of the world.

I don't think you can go wrong with LTT.

Have you thought about having your TS meal at lunch? We love LTT for lunch. They have a nice menu and it's nice and cool inside!.

My favorite place to eat at MK is Caseys, which is not TS but seriously yummy. The only TS Ive done inside the MK is Crystal Palace, and we had aweful service. Kona and Ohana are both very good, the Poly is a beautiful resort.

Ohana is good food, fun atmosphere.

Kona is excellent food but atmosphere is cramped and noisy.

Tony's is good food and very convenient.

LLT to me is rather bland basic food. Good food but unexciting for me.

Wilderness Lodge is another yawn for me. Ok food but boring.

What isn't on the poll is The Wave at Contemporary. Very good food but would take a bit of time to leave MK to go to.

Kona or Ohana at Poly is easy to get to. Just take the boat as its faster than monorail unless there is no wait.

I did look at the Wave, however I dont think the menu will appeal to the older teens, and it doesn't seem like the kind of atmosphere for a 18mo old. Was looking for something a bit louder, quicker and more kid friendly.

I see Ohana in the lead but I am still concerned with the amount of time the dinner takes. and honestly DH and I werent in LOVE with the food.

Ohanas is one of the faster restaurants to eat at. Maybe a bit of wait to get seated sometimes but once you are they start bringing the food. Much like a buffet but they bring it to you.

Kona to me has some of the best food at WDW. It's rather noisy with families but that appears to not be an issue for you. Its very quick to get to by using the boat launch from MK.

We're trying to decide the same thing as OP. Deciding btw. Kona and the Wave. Do you think Kona is much quicker to get there? Is walking to the Contemporary an option? Thanks.

I believe u can walk to CR. But I do know that CR is the first stop on the monorail after MK, then TTC then Poly, GF and back to MK, so the monorail would be fast to get to CR.:)

My vote is for the Wave which was not in the poll. The food it fabulous. It was quiet when we were there and I can't wait to go again. The Contemporary is not that far away and if you do an earlier ADR around 5ish, you should have plenty of evening park time afterward.

I voted for Kona. I don't think it matters that you are also going there for breakfast.

I've never been to Ohana but I've seen some long lines waiting to get in. Made me think that they are often way behind on seating people for their ADRs.

The important question to me is... are you planning on doing more touring in the MK after dinner?

If yes, I would try to stay in the park and go to LTT. Personally, I hate to leave a park for a meal.

If no, I would try either Ohana or Kona.

***Interesting thing for me about WCC. Two years ago, we stayed at the WL and ate there shortly after we arrived on the first evening at the start of our vacation. We enjoyed the atmosphere and entertainment and thought the food was quite good. But I think if I ate there at any other time beyond that first day... the noise level after being in a busy park all day long would have made me crazy. After a long day in the parks I like a restaurant that offers a bit of peace and quiet (which WCC does not).

Happy Planning! :goodvibes

If you're willing to do a late lunch instead of dinner, I would say Liberty Tree Tavern - it has a great lunch menu with some very filling options (pot roast, etc.) Plus it's right in the MK.

I know you said no characters, but the food at dinner at Crystal Palace is very yummy and you can't get much quicker service than at a buffet. (The characters from Winnie the Pooh would most likely focus their attention on the 18 mo - who would probably love it.)

I'll also chime in with another vote for The Wave. It is a quick monorail ride to get there, and only a 5-10 minute walk along a marked pathway to get back to the MK. (As long as the teens like steak, the beef tenderloin is awesome.) We ate their this last trip with my 3 nephews (one is 3, the twins are 16 months) and there were plenty of other children in the restaurant. It's a bit fancier than most 1 TS places, but still kid friendly.

FWIW, we also like Whispering Canyon and Ohana, but they can take time to get to/from and may take some time for service.
