Trying to remember what happened with the discounted AP deal earlier this year

Hi all. I'm hoping that someone with a better memory than I do, knows the quick answer to this question.

Bringing my family on our next trip to WDW at the end of March, so I need to purchase AP's by the end of January so I can book our FP's.

If I purchase the standard DVC AP's and then (fingers crossed) another AP deal like the one offered earlier this year is offered again, would I able to do a swap and get a refund on the difference, or would I need to put these in a drawer for future use (because they weren't yet activated) and shell out for a second set of the special passes.

Thanks all.

I don't think they allowed refunds on previously purchased tickets.

The current Special DVC AP didn't need to be activated until January 31st 2015...so I wouldn't expect another special announced until after that time. I would assume you would have to save the purchased AP for another trip and purchase any specially priced DVC AP. I doubt if they would issue you a refund....but you never know.... Have a great trip

All previous promos were for a PAP (Premium Annual Pass) which also includes the Water Parks, DisneyQuest, etc. One promo also included the Disney Premier Passport (includes both WDW & DL).

No, the special priced ones we just activated was a normal DVC AP. We purchased them through MS sometime in March or April.

The price of the special PAP was close in price to the DVC regular AP. The special PAP was $484 plus tax, the DVC regular AP is $485 (was $465 at the time the offer started). So if you had the regular AP at the time the offer started ($465) you could have upgraded to the special PAP since it was less.
