I want to pick something that isnt' too far of a drive from WDW in Orlando. The fifth day of our trip in Feb is for a place outside of Disney. I can't do thrill rides and am going with DH, mother and step dad (who don't do thrill rides either) so coasters are off limits, etc. Other than Universal (which I've been told has mostly thrill rides) and SeaWorld - any other choices. Water parks are out since it's Feb and I'm not into that anyway. I've heard of Olde Towne but don't know anything about it. Busch Gardens is further than we want to drive. So....Universal, Sea World or what other place would be really fun to spend the whole day?

TIA:santa:

US has plenty of Shows to watch and none thrills. Take from a person mom does not do thrill at all and love US. IOA has thrills rides in the park. Sea World is good and have alot shows. But don't discount US because of the thrills. They handful stuff mom would not read.

You can do either Universal Studios or Seaworld. Really I think it is down to what would interest you most.

Seaworld, obviously, has lots of animals and animal related shows. IMHO - you really need at least 1.5 days to experience Seaworld properly now.

Universal Studios is movie related. There are rides but only one I would call a thrill ride. (that is the Mummy rollercoaster). All the others are shows or rides that are not in the thrill category. Lots of places where the show movie style effects (like earthquakes etc). They also have an animal trainer show which is cool.

I like both parks and would say pick what you think interests you most.

Old Towne is a collection of shops mainly - we may spend a couple of hours there but mostly because they have a mini golf and a small fun fair there which the kids enjoy.

Other suggestions - some are not really full day options - however after several full days at Disney you may appreciate a slower day.

-mini golf and a nice lunch
-gatorland - neat for half a day.
-Cypress gardens - i hear that it is beautiful to wander around.
-Bok Tower Gardens, Lake Wales
-visit the nearby city of Mount Dora - apparently nice antique shops and restaurants.

Depending on whether you have a Biblical interest, The Holy Land Experience may be interesting. There is also Cypress Gardens, Gatorland, or just enjoying some of the numerous smaller interests (flying in a balloon, flying in a WWII plane, some of the tourist attractions along I-Drive, etc.).
