Trying to pass time ~ looking for Mickey/Minnie Stationery?

Hi everyone! So, seeing as i still have a quite a few months until i can officially book with Disney, i am trying to get other things in order (i.e. the cake topper, favors, etc) I really want to make my own centerpieces but am unsure of the policy at the Living Seas. Does anybody know if i'd be able to bring my own? Anybody have any other suggestions for me to do while i pass the time for the next few months? i just chose my colors. They will be all bright colors with a focus on a watermelony pink, vibrant purple, and a grassy green. doesn't sound too nice when i type it out but i promise it does look pretty! TIA!

I am not trying to discourage you but I would be hesitant to actually book or purchase things. I will have planned for about 13 months in total when the wedding is all said and done and I was like you wanting to get a head start on things.


First mistake is that I booked a wonderful but very expensive videographer that will do great work but I found a comparable one for half the cost but it is too late now as we have paid money and will lose.

Second mistake: Bought bridesmaids dresses and then found cheaper ones that I liked better but too late now.

Third mistake: Bought 100 + favors since we were inviting 125 guests but then we decided to keep it small and now are only going to be having about 40. I had already tied and sealed with glue the favor boxes so I lost money because I couldn't return.

Fourth mistake: Bought things and then changed theme...

End result: Fiance has banned me from making purchases until after floral meeting and planning session.

My point is that you will change your mind SO many times in the process and when you do if you have a contract or things purchased you will be stuck.

ETA: Start compiling photographs from magazines, working on color scheme, look through menus, research research research vendors, ask a lot of questions here but try not to do anything too permanent.

I'm like you, disneygal922, in that I have quite a while until I can officially book with Disney but I am anxious to make use of all this time I have and start planning! There are so many things to consider and choices to make that I think it is never too early! Like Skyslarr29 said, I think it is important to start organizing ideas, researching vendors, working on color schemes, etc. What date are you hoping for?

I'd agree, research research research!! You can start little things, like figuring out what you want to put in your welcome folders or if you want to do souvenir bags... shop sales at disney store (they have one going on this week!)

have you looked for a dress yet? sometimes its nice to just go try stuff on when you're in the wedding mood...

I too vote for the research research research!! I've changed my photographer twice (luckily I haven't paid any deposits yet, just the ones I was planning on using) DJ's more times than I can count, make up twice and florists a few times!

However I also remember what it was like when I felt like I was so far off and couldn't do anything! You might want to try a scrapbookding store for mickey and minnie stationary. You might not find stationary but you could cut down some paper. Or look for stickers to add to some paper you already like. Good luck finding your stationary!
