Trying to justify $249 for a Cabana at VB, end of August

Called Universal today, decided if a cabana was $159 I would just book it, but for the last week in August its still $249 plus tax. There's only 3 of us, (husband and 17 year old son) if there were 6, then again, I'd book. I'd love to have one and that way can stay all day and be comfortable. I worry we'll book and the weather will be bad, although we have always been so lucky in August.
Guess I am trying to justify the cost. Never had a cabana at any of the parks before but always think it would be nice. There was plenty of availability so thinking I might wait to hear others experience of them first.
Anyone else booked at this price for just three people?

You could wait for reviews to come in and make the decision then. I may even make it to grand opening (not sure yet), we won't be renting a cabana, but we may be able to tour them during the opening.

Whenever I have to justify a decision, I do a cost/benefit analysis. Think of it like this: Three people for 8 hours = $10.38 per hour. For that, you receive certain benefits as well as a level of security not afforded you otherwise. How much to rent a locker for a day? How much would it cost for the snacks and water provided? How much is towel service worth to you? How likely are you to use the ability to arrange virtual queue times from your cabana? How about guaranteed shade and a refrigerator? Only you can decide or "justify" your decision based on the value of the amenities to you and your family. For me, with only two of us, I would go with premium seating but I would love to splurge on a Cabana if I could get DH to agree on the value.

That's a great way to look at it, suddenly doesn't seem that expensive. Mind you, no way would I be telling my husband how much. We've been pretty lucky over the years having so many great holidays and have a kind of unwritten rule that he just doesn't ask me how much all the little extras cost. My favourite saying of his is " you've surpassed yourself this time". Hoping he'd say that about the cabana

Hi:wave: I am renting a Cabana at the beginning of August for $399.99 for 4 of us. I justified by knowing we have never been to a water park at night (they usually close before dark) and we want to experience it. I thought it would be a great way to have all the amenities the above poster talked about for 12 hours of comfort. I think it is actually a good deal with what you get. The teens like the idea of having a place to relax in between. DH is really good about spending money on vacation. As long as he is having a good time and going to enjoy it he is good.:thumbsup2 We will be going another day while on our trip and I did just rent the lounge chairs for that day. Good luck with your choice:goodvibes

My cheapskate nature has never been able to justify a cabana anywhere. Everyone has their own criteria though! I did decide to spring for unlimited express pass, much more important to me, plus I am going solo.
