I meant to take a picture, but never got around to doing it. So, I'm trying a long shot here...

There was a flowering bush that we saw at several places in WDW. The one I specifically remember was along the path by the main pool at SSR. It was a bush with small, orange, trumpet-shaped flowers. If you can figure out the plant I'm talking about, does anyone know the name of it? We'd never seen it before and wondered if we'd be able to get it to grow in Virginia.

Thanks!

If it's Hibiscus you can grow it in a container outside in the spring and summer and bring indoors once there is risk of frost. My parents have a couple and they are beautiful. The winter indoors seems to help them go dormant so they can grow amazing blooms in the summer.

My guess would be a trumpet creeper. They plant them to attract Hummingbirds, which we saw several of while at SSR. Here is a photo.

that was my first thought - but then i thought that if the flower is small, it might be a variety of honeysuckle. anyway, i googled 'plant with orange trumpet like flower' and got oodles of hits - try that and you will prob find what you're looking for.

I know the one he is talking about and you are probably right that it is a variety of Trumpet Honeysuckle and as the blooms were small. Here is a photo of trumpet coral honeysuckle.

I have to agree with you on the flowers by the SSR pool, they are very pretty. We were interested in growing some at home also, and asked one of the gardeners by the pool one morning about the different varieties. She was great and very informative. You could tell she really loved her job.
That was our favorite part of the day, early morning walks around the resort admiring the landscaping.
I dont know what kind of flower, but thanks for the walk down memory lane! :cloud9:
