Our trip is in April. We wanted the Tomorrowland Terrace Wishes Dessert Party and tried our best to get the ADR exactly 180 days out. Well that did not happen.
Ever since then I have checked the Reservation System everyday twice a day hoping for a cancellation. It never happened - BUT I got bored the other day and tried to increase our party from 2 to a whopping 18 people, and guess what? It said it could accommodate us! Well on a whim, I started to submit requests decreasing the number in the party each time - we got down to 3, but as soon as you put in 2 - no go!
This got my attention and I called WDW Reservations to find out why. Well as it turns out, they apparently have pre-set tables for different party sizes, and Disney decided to only have ONE 2 person table - EVER for this experience. So I booked and paid for the 3 person table after getting assurances from the reservation agent that I could pay for three people and only show up with 2 and still be granted access to the party.
We now have reservations for the TLTWDP!!!!!! Woot!
So just a tip that I thought would be helpful to know if you want this experience.
As a side note - I think Disney needs to re-think this strategy - they should just set an occupancy for the experience and book till that number is reached, not pre-set table sizes. Reasoning - what happens when that 18 person table is not booked? Well that table gets no people sitting at it, and 18 people out there in the park could have enjoyed the experience - as well as lost revenue for the park.
