Trying to get back to Akershus----how is the food?

Our very first meal on our very first day during our very first Disney trip....was dinner at Akershus.
My daughter and niece were young. They loved the Princesses but ate very little. Because they didn't care for the food, we haven't returned.

I've wanted to give it another try but we started snacking around the world and really love doing that However, we'll be there during christmas break this year and expecting bigger crowds. We're going to do more TS meals. One day will be Rose & Crown (if Yorkshire lines are too long) and another day could be Akershus.

I have a 10:55 breakfast ADR and a 1:35 lunch ADR. Which would you keep?

My kids are 17 and 13. DS13 isn't the most adventurous eater but I try to push him a little bit to try something other than a burger! The meatballs look possible.

Is there a taste of Norway buffet at breakfast? I remember liking it so much during our dinner.

We're doing breakfast there bc our family is full of picky eaters.

I would do breakfast as well. Along with the Scandinavian staples (smoked fish for example) they also have all the standard breakfast fare - scrambled eggs, sausage, lots of fresh fruit. And yes, breakfast is a buffet. I would think everyone could find something familiar that they like from the buffet.

Mom and I did breakfast and really enjoyed it. They bring a platter of food, family style, of scrambled eggs, potato casserole (which is delicious), bacon, and I believe sausage (it might have been one or the other) and fruit. The buffet is cold items, cheese, cold meats, yogurts, granola, and then lots of breads and pastries. The princesses were very nice too, and spent decent time at each table. Bonus, if you get a pre park open reservation, you can be done and in line for FEA. We didn't get until a little after 9 and only had about a 20 minute wait. It really was great!

All meals have the appetizer buffet. But, I don't know if they change it between breakfast and lunch. The breakfast one is cold fish selection, cheeses, salads, and fruits. We haven't been for lunch or dinner since 2009 (though going there for dinner next month!)

Breakfast entrée is served family style, and is AYCE. If a particular platter runs out, you can ask for more of that item.

Lunch and dinner is off a menu, which it seems you've seen.

My daughter is 8 and she loved the breakfast. We also asked if we could get Mickey Waffles with the foods mentioned above and they brought us a plate of them as well.
