Trying to find a rental home near Disney

Hi Jeanne. We'll be trying a vacation home rental for the first time in 2-1/2 weeks. Can't wait for the extra space with 3 kids! My question: was it easy enough to get to the parks from Formosa Gardens? Also, if you had a private pool at your house, was it warm enough without heating or did you have to pay to heat it? Thank you!

The parks were less than ten minutes away, it was great. With three kids you will love it. Just pulling into the driveway and going into your house vs. parking the car at the hotel and dragging the kids in after a long day Easily close enough to take a midday break and then head back into the parks.

We had the pool heated. Our girls liked it that way. Probably would have been ok without heating but heated it was perfect. The jacuzzi tub was a spillover from the pool so it was the same water, no hotter so we were glad to have the heat. If you are going to swim once the sun goes down I think heated is nicer

Did you book through a company or on your own? Just curious, we booked through a management company and was thinking maybe it would be less expensive to rent on our own next time?

You're a star!!! Thanks for the mini trip report on Wyndham Palms - makes me even more excited to go in Oct!!!

Just to add my thoughts on pool heat...... We always have the pool heating on when we've been (March, May, September & November). I love getting having a dip in the late evening as it's gorgeous and warm, just like a bath.

Lori - you won't regret staying in a villa as it's soooo much more convenient than staying in a hotel room.

Hi All

I have just found this Thread and would like to mention Highlands Reserve Golf and Country Club. Located on HWY 27 its about 15 minutes from Disney. A lot of the villas back onto the golf course so you have some inbuilt extra entertainment. It's a great place to stay if you have golf nuts in your family.
There are 3 bed up to 6 bed villas. Polk County has a ruling that only so many persons can stay in each size villa eg: 10 in a 4 and 12 in a 5 bed. If the owner is caught accommodating more, they can have their licence taken away.

We rented a house for the first time this year. We rented through the website vrbo and were very pleased. The house was in Westridge, about 15 -20 minutes from Disney,close enough to go for a break . It was very clean, reasonable and we had no problems whatsoever. We will never go back to hotel rooms or condos again.
We were there March 1-14th and very happy to have had the pool heat on.

Has anyone every heard of Homes4uu.com ? We have two 7 bedroom houses rented from them for next week. The pics on the website look great, but I know they can be deceiving. Anyone know? They havent said which division we will be staying... both have private pools. Thanks

Looks like another booking agency to me. I don't know of any vacation home company that has been going for 25 years....most are 10- 14 years old.
