A couple of questions for you Veterans out there....

I am planning on going to WDW for seven days/six nights and I need some opinion on the best time to go. I was thinking about Oct 9-15 or Nov 6-12. How crowded are the parks at that time and how is the weather? I've been reading numerous posts about the week after Thanksgiving because of the x-mas decorations.

My husband and I are considering this vacation our 5 year anniversary gift. We want to stay at ALK w/ the sav view. How do you get the best rates for that room? I'm not a AAA member or AP holder, but if the savings would warrent it, I would get either one.

Thanks for your help!!! :earboy2:

With the children back in school I think either week would be good. As far as how do you get a good rate, you need to check every so often at mousesavers.com. When public codes come out, it will be posted there. They don't always have a code for the time that you wish to go. If you have reservations made and a code comes out you can call and they will adjust the price for you. Hope this helps. :earsboy:

I think... rate wise, if you go before October 4th or 5th, it's value season and if you book with AAA or an AP discount, you could save even more.

We've been in WDW at both of the times you're considering. The crowds were light in both months, but Nov had the least amount of people.

I thought the weather was better in Nov. It averaged 82 - 85 and only rained one morning. It was the first trip I didn't have to put my hair up every day.

So, if the room rate is the deciding factor, go the month you will get the best deal.

I posted a similar ? on the Disney for Families forum. See my thread 'best time to go' A lot of responses say Oct is good but I can't imagine a week or two later is much diff. I did visit in Oct. years ago and remember it still being warm and humid. I'm not too concerned about visiting waterparks but just do not want to be miserable touring the parks w/ a 5 yr old and almost 2 year old. Those are the same weeks we are considering. I'll keep an eye on your responses as well! :) Have fun.
