I'm trying to decide what to do.

I have
  • days left on our 10 day hoppers
  • We have to buy the one day ticket for our package
  • I have GAD vouchers for the three of us

Should I use the GAD voucher, the one day ticket and then whatever remaining days I need on the 10 day ticket or something else? I'm getting so confused.:headache:

I'm trying to figure out the best money saving option.

Thanks!

ETA - we're going to be in WDW for 7 days

How many days are left on your ten day hoppers? That is a factor which needs consideration. And how many Park days are you planning for?

I think I have about 6 or 7 days left on them. We're planning on 5 or 6 days in the parks.

Thanks!

I'd use the one day tickets that you need to buy and then buy additional park tix using the GAD to get discount/$$$ off the new tix.
Save your old tix for a future trip as they will never expire.

The GAD vouchers have to be used by December 15 - you can use them as tickets and upgrade them, or you can use them to get fastpass cards (good if you are going at a busier time) or for the figurine or pins. If you upgrade them, you will get credit for a one day ticket for each voucher.

The one day tickets from your package never expire. They can be upgraded to whatever tickets you need and you will get credit for a one day ticket.

The tickets from your 10-day hoppers also never expire, assuming you purchased the no-expiration option.

If you don't want to use the GAD vouchers for FP cards, I'd upgrade those so you can realize the full value of the credit ($79 per adult, plus tax). You can't save them for another trip unless you will be back before December 15. Otherwise, I'd use the remaining days on your hoppers if they match up with your trip (6 days left and 6 days in the parks) and use the GADs for FP cards and/or pins. If you have 7 days left on your old tickets and plan 5 days in the parks, I'd hold onto the old hoppers unless you also have a two day trip planned. Otherwise, you'd need to buy tickets for your next trip, and shorter tickets are not very cost effective.

To save the maximum amount of money ticket wise, you'd need to use the GAD vouchers for tickets, upgrade them, and save the 1-day and remaining NE ticket for two future trips. But in a way, that's not really saving money, is it? :) But if you are going to make the future trips, this is the way to go. The 1-day tix can be upgraded in the future, and you can use the remaining NE ticket days on yet another trip - find out exactly the number of days, and plan a future trip based on that.

The reason is the way Disney front-loads the cost of the tickets - the first day is the most expensive, then the second is a little less, then the third...when you hit 4, the cost drops dramatically to $6, and then each additional day is just $3. So if you were to do something like use the GAD ticket or your package 1-day ticket just for an extra day on a 4+ day trip, you are using a $79 value ticket to pay for a $3 day.

It is never a good value to use more than one ticket during a trip.

As StitchandPooh'sMom says, you NEED to use the GAD voucher for something anyways...if you'd rather, and the length of the NE ticket works, I might use the NE ticket, and use the GAD voucher for the Fastpasses. Keep the 1-day ticket for the next trip. That would "save" you money in the sense that you won't need to outlay more cash for this trip.

But I would try to make sure that I do not leave myself with a single day left on the NE ticket, or really anything less than a potential full trip.

How much would a 6 day hopper ticket be if upgraded a GAD ticket?
