We usually go to Goofy's but I'm reading lots of good things about the Minnie and Friends breakfast. How much of a difference is the food quality/quantity?

Been to both like Minnie's way better.

Love how its located in the park. Wouldn't say quality is better at Minnie's but maybe Goofy's might have a larger selection.

IMO Minnie's 100% better and my DW and DS agree.

My two cents, give Minnie a try!

The food at Minnies is very "breakfast". Waffles, french toast, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes, pastries, fruit, omelets made to order, cold cereal.

Goofys has a wider range of food and offer some lunch type items (like fish, salad, pasta salad) and special "kids items" (peanut butter and jelly pizza, mini corn dogs, etc)- as well as breakfast items.

This for me is a toss up as both are great for different reasons. Both have good food, but Goofy's has a wider selection, where Minnies has a wider selection of characters. :confused3 Goofy's is also in the Disneyland hotel and that hotel itself is beautiful and fun to check out, plus Pluto tyically meets you at the front door and you can go into his little character corner for a picture and interaction as you wait to be seated. But when you are at Minnies you are right in the park and can keep on playing when you are done. So its a tough call but it is a win win wither way. Maybe I can give you a list of characters I have seen, and others here can give you a list too.

Goofys: (I've seen these characters over all the times I have been. There only seems to be about 5 of them each time meal)
- Goofy, Aladdin, Mad Hatter, Fairy God Mother, Daisy Duck, Aurora, Minnie Mouse, White Rabbit, Alice, Gepetto, Pluto, Jasmine

Plaza: (I have only been once, but in that time I have seen)
- Purple dress mouse from Cinderella, Rafiki, Gepetto, Fairy God Mother, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Captain Hook, Brer Fox, Chip, Dale, Max (Goofy's son).

We have never been disappointed at Minnie's. I can't say the same for Goofy's.

We like that the restaurant is IN the park. We like the characters and the interaction. My DH loves their biscuits and gravy.

Good luck!

Food wise....Minnie's has breakfast - Goofy's has brunch items
Character interaction I found was better at Minnie's. We saw more characters and they returned to the table several times. At Goofy's we probably saw 4 characters and a princess. Pluto was there, but never came to our table.
Plus, if you are not staying at the DLR, Minnie's would probably be closer to get too...and you are already in the park.

I can only describe Minnie's as awful awful awful (when it comes to the food)!!! We just went on 5/25 at 8:10 just 10 mins after the breakfast had started and the food was horrible and really cold. If you do choose Minnie’s I hope it’s a better experience then ours. We are by no means foodies but we know when food is cold and this was not even lukewarm. We also told the CM's working at the front about the food and they could not care less. We will never go there again but the one positive was the character interaction. Not worth it if you want to have a good meal!

We also did Goofy's for dinner on 5/24 and it was good and much much better then Minnie’s. Just my 2 cents.

Ditto this, I thought Minnie's was TERRIBLE. We were also there on 5/25!

The food was standard buffet fare and not that good. Nothing special, not even "good." Minnie stayed in the other half of the restaurant and never once came over to our half (granted we were not there that long, the food sucked). We saw Eeyore & another character, but DD was afraid of characters that weren't Mickey, Minnie, or Princesses. Our reservation was at 10:50 a.m. (per advice from this forum, to go to a later breakfast and not miss precious early morning ride time) but the characters leave at 11:30 a.m. We were there 30 min tops and for that we paid approx. $55+ for our "buffet" meal + $35 for the picture (the only one we bought at DL). It was a rip and I felt gypped paying $55 for that crappy food and not meeting Minnie at Minnie's Breakfast.

We did dinner at Goofy's, also on 5/24!, and while the food was still average buffet, it was a little bit better quality, more selection, and the kids buffet had interesting things like the peanut butter & jelly pizza, a fun dessert bar, etc. At Goofy's, we saw Minnie (go figure!), Goofy, Belle, Chip/Dale, and maybe some more, I can't remember now. But if I had to do it all over again, I would completely skip Breakfast with Minnie at the Plaza Inn - gross, expensive, hardly any characters.

This is the thing that really, really makes me mad about Disney. If you have a problem with one of their hotels or restaurants they don't seem to do anything about it.

I guess I should explain. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel a few years back and our room was horrible. It was in major need or a refurb. Our feet and socks were filthy from walking around our room. Everything was very run down. Paint chipping, bathroom just not clean, etc. We complained and they said there was nothing they could do.

We usually stayed off site but splurged that year to stay at the DLH. We were SO excited to try it. It was such a let down.

We went to Goofy's Kitchen in April and where we were seated the characters did NOT come to. Aladdin was in that section when we arrived so we saw him immediately. We ate a leisurely dinner - food was mediocre at best. We ate dessert. No other characters came by. 20 minutes after we were finished eating, we finally asked the waiter if we were going to have the opportunity to see any other characters. They had walked close to our section, but NEVER came to us - we had 2 daughters with us dressed as princesses. Finally the manager came over and said he had told them all to come see us, but it took another hour of sitting there to see them all. There was no parade around, no music, no dancing, etc. We were very disappointed!

That is so sad. I have been to Goofy's plenty of times before but only once with a similar experience, but then again we went when it was slow an they placed us in an area way from most people so no one really knew we were there. When the Fairy God mother came up we said "oh finally a character". She came over to us twice to have a chat. She was really sweet. But other times we sat when there were other families and the interaction was all over the place. We have the best experiences then. So I guess it depends on where they place you. We always ask to be seated with the majority if possible.

We have done both breakfasts. We have done Goofy's several times and we have always been very happy with the food and characters/interaction. We did Minnie's for the first time this March. We thought the food was much better at Goofy's. At Minnie's you have to stand in multiple lines to get your food. For example, you stand in line to be served the biscuits and ham, and then go to another line to be served the pancakes. We thought that was a bit inconvenient. We also thought the tables inside were too close together. We were seated next to a window and we could barely pull the chairs out to sit down. We did like a lot about Minnie's though. We thought there were more characters at Minnie's. We also liked that we were right in the park. The kids loved the buttons they got, and wore them proudly through the rest of our trip! I would not hesitate to go to either one again. I would like to try Goofy's for dinner next time.

Wow, that is crazy that we were both there almost at the same time! I totally agree with everything you said!!!
Did you try the butternut squash soup at Goffy's? I was soooo yummy and if I could just get the soup I would, it was the best part of the meal!

Are you going in Oct? If you are we can unknowingly stalk each other again, lol

The best place I ate was Ariel's Grotto for dinner for the World of Color package. I am sad they are not still doing the WOC dinner thing there but next time I guess we will try WCT for the WOC dining package.

I've done Minnie's for breakfast and Goofy's for dinner.

Minnie had awesome character selection, and the food was good. However, it is very hard to justify the price for the food. It's breakfast food and is relatively inexpesive and easy. However, the pictures they took prior to the meal might be the best picture I have of my kids. That's probably just incidental though.

Goofy's had great food for dinner. And came a lot closer to justifying the cost. However, characater selection was far slimmer, and I though I didn't bring my kids, I think kids wanting that character time might be a tad disapointed.

My point of view. If you're kid is a character nut, take Minnie's for a late breakfast and justify the cost by making it a brunch.

If you want better food with a fun flair, grab an early dinner at Goofy's and enjoy the entire line up of food and desserts and have some fun with the characters you do meet.
