Hi,

We are staying 7 nights at Beachclub in August and are going to fly down 3 days earlier to try the waterparks.

I am trying to decide between all star music and caribbean beach resort. The price difference is $40 per night or $120 for the 3 nights.

Do you feel it is worth the extra $40 per night for a moderate? We plan to be at waterpark for 2 days then animal kingdom before moving to BC.

Thanks

Are you aware of the fact that CBR is starting a major construction project in May? There will be disruption at the resort, including dining and shopping, and I would not choose to stay there at this time.

No I did not know that...thank you. CSR is also the same price as CBR for the 3 nights.

CSR is also undergoing construction. POR might be a better choice bc you could take the boat to Disney Springs in the evening. If you don't mind full size beds instead of queens and don't mind counter service, just stay at a value especially if you will be resting in the evening.

Because of the construction at CBR, go with the AS.

Not knowing your group numbers or ages .... will value's full beds be okay or are moderate's queen beds a better choice.

I would not hesitate to stay at CSR right now. Nothing had been impacted in dining or amenities like CBR. If you book standard Ranchos you'll save more and likely won't see any construction.

To me, 2 of the biggest differences in moderate vs. value

queen size beds vs. full size beds
pool towels vs. no pool towels

CB's Centertown and main pool are indeed going to be under construction, but my boyfriend recently informed me that they're offering something like *$75 per night* on a Disney Gift Card to get people to stay during construction (his parents are staying there during our big group trip in August). It was originally like $25, but they bumped up the incentive when no one was booking. Call and ask to see if they're still offering this incentive.

Additionally, I've heard that they'll be adding snack cart locations of some sort to each of the villages to make up for the fact that the food court and restaurant will be closed. This may actually be an amenity improvement in some ways, and I hope they keep them after Centertown reopens.

FWIW, we NEVER used the Centertown amenities while we stayed at CB in January. I never eat breakfast at resort food courts anyway, but my boyfriend often does...and he didn't bother this time as it was far enough from our room in Aruba to make it more worthwhile to just hop on the bus and head straight to the parks. The in-room fridges + our own drinks and snacks = perfect tide-over.

The main feature pool is supposed to be UC, but the village clusters have "quiet pools" if all you care about is having a place to take a dip.

I believe they're no longer offering the $75 credit for reservations made now, if that influences your decision at all, OP.

I would probably book a value, just because you will probably spend most of the two days at a water-park and the other day at Animal Kingdom, so you wouldn't be at the resort as much.

If you are OK with the Full-sized beds instead of the Queen-sized beds, I would say go with the Value resorts. It sounds like you won't be at the resort much anyway. The value resorts are really perfectly fine. The one thing I was surprised with at the value resorts is how well their grounds were maintained. It was really quite nice to walk around the resort and just enjoy the atmosphere. Also, if staying at ASMu, you can walk over to the other two AS resorts and check them out too.

Have fun!!

We love the All-Stars, and I speak of someone who used to stay exclusively at the Polynesian. I don't feel that I gave up much, because we are Park Hopping Commando Fiends and are not in the room much. When I stayed at the Poly, I began to feel that we were paying an awful lot for scenery and amenities that we were just blowing by on our way to the parks. So I tried Value and never looked back.

We need a pool slide and queen beds so we do moderate or deluxe.

If I were doing a trip that wasn't the whole family and just me and one of my kids I would do a value. But no way am I sharing a double bed with my SO. I barely like sharing a queen. lol
