We are planning a visit to Disney this December. We are trying to decide whether to stay at the Wilderness Lodge or Polyensian. Would love to get people's thoughts on the two resorts

We have never stayed at the polynesian resort, but have been at WDL twice and loved it both times. Love the pool area and the restaurants!

We just had an 11 day stay at WL last month, and it was wonderful! We were on CL and I have to say it was our best Disney trip ever! The WL is awesome...it's beautiful, great transportation options (bus, boat to MK, boat to CR to hop on monorail), the CM's are super friendly, and our room was awesome!!! I really can't say enough great things about it.

That being said, our next trip will be at POLY CL in April. We just feel we shouldn't close ourselves off to other resorts and the Poly was a childhood dream of mine to stay at, so we're going to give it a go!! :thumbsup2

for Dec definitely WL - the big tree in the lobby - the smaller trees all around the place.

they do Dec right!!!

I have stayed at both, and would pick the Poly 1000 times over the WL.

You'll get many different opinions on this one. I've stayed at both and I much prefer WL. I found the Polynesian to be way too spread out for my tastes - and for someone who loves Hawaii, I just didn't "buy" the theming as much.

Christmas - Wilderness Lodge!

Never stayed during Xmas at the POLY but have eaten at Ohana on our Xmas trips and it just didn't seem that festive, especially compared to WL and GF.

WL hands down!
The Chistmas decorations are among the best at any resort.

I've stayed at the Poly...not a fan.

While I prefer the Poly as a resort, I would opt for the WL during the holidays. Its Christmas decorations are just more impressive and the resort feels more cozy during the winter months since nearly everything is enclosed, there are fireplaces in the lobby, etc. Plus, you will save money staying there that you could put toward other things (i.e. MVMCP).

Have fun wherever you end up!

We've stayed once at Poly, and 3 stayes at WL. Both are great resorts, and if Poly wasn't so ridiculously expensive, we'd have more stayes there too!

WL is beautiful with their Christmas decorations. Poly has very large rooms. So I'd say it would depend on the number of people in the room, and ages.

I wouldn't want to stay at WL with 4 grown people. 2 young kids would be ok.
We are just 2 or 3 adults, depending on who's going. So WL room size is ok for us.

Poly is beautiful too. Love the torch lit paths, watching Wishes from the beach, and the wonderful transportation, with boat or monorail to MK, and short path to TTC for Epcot monorail.

Good luck deciding.

The Wilderness Lodge at Christmas time is something truly beautiful!

I'd like to try the Poly at some point but if I were in WDW in November or December, I'd pick the WL every single time!

Enjoy! pixiedust:

Poly is my fave fave fave resort BUT at Christmastime nothing beats the WL :) (plus it's cheaper!)

I totally agree :thumbsup2. We love both resorts and although the Poly is our favorite of the two overall, we love the WL during the holidays :santa:. Any other time of year I would say go with the Poly, but for December, the WL can't be beat :goodvibes.

I really do love the Poly but we just 100% love the WL! Like all the posters said, it will be beautiful there in December.
