Trying to add one person to reservation, but site wants me to cancel existing reservation

I have a reservation for a party of seven at Le Cellier. One of my kids has decided to join us for our trip. I found a spot for a party of one within 5 minutes of our reservation, but the website will not let me pick it up without cancelling my reservation for seven. The dining line is closed right now, so I can't call. I am afraid I am going to lose this spot! Any suggestions on how to make this work?

Did this work for you? I'm also trying to add one person. If I make a reservation for one person for all of our current reservations will they let her sit with us? We are currently a party of 8 and if we add her we'll be a party of 9.
