Trying Not To Get My Hopes Up!

Okay, just plugged in those dates again and came up with $1164.00 (I requested a King room) without air and without ins.

So, my next questions.....

Do you usually take the insurance? :confused3

Is it better to book online or to call and speak to an actual person? :confused3

Thanks again for all your help!!

Seems like things are moving along quite nicely on your end...
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Now, as for your questions:

1. Personally, I prefer speaking to a person. As far as I've been able to tell, the official website isn't quite as reliable as you'd like it to be. Calling takes longer but it gives a certain peace of mind...the Disney reservation process is a bit intricate and it doesn't seem that their site really covers all the bases. That's just me though...

2. Nope, Disney Insurance isn't that great of a deal.
mousesavers.net discusses this in pretty good detail. If you have a sec, check it out.

Again...much luck to you!!

SDY thanks for the input on the insurance and whether to book online or in person. I think, if I actually ever get to book, I will call in person. Had a little set back last night with DH, but I'm still keeping the hope!! :)

I just plugged in arrival of 9/5 depart on 9/9 with 3 day hoppers and I was quoted 1093.04 at csr. Also if you belong to AAA you can get a discount on the room portion of your package and still get free dining.

Would your dh like downtown disney? POR is a nice boat ride away and is a moderate resort too.

:wizard: for you.

I haven't heard of anyone getting a AAA discount with free dining - in fact most are saying you can't. Did you actually do this yourself?

You are correct. Sorry for the misinformation.

Thanks - didn't want to miss it if it was available!

Hi, I was just looking in and say your delema. I do hope you get to go as my Dh is a stay at home kind of guy. HE would rather take his vacation and stay at home watch baseball and play video games!!

I just looked at prices like your doing, put everything together got the dates for him so he could know about work (looked at his pay stub the amount of vactaion and sick time is sometimes on there). I made him watch the video and said we could watch it just in case i ever get to go, talked about it like EVERYDAY ( I know kind of annoying) and finally he caved and gave me the go ahead to get it.

Tell him That because of the free dining cut off being June you need to put down your 200 dollar deposit that you can get a full refund of (before 45 days out-dont tell him that part). Tell him this way if he decides not to go you can cancel and if he decides to go youll get the dining.

Then once he says yes................just pretend its a deffinate yes. Act as if you are deffinatly going with him. After this i dont think he can tell you to get a refund and say you cant go again. Just make sure he knows how much this means to you. Keep thanking him and saying because of HIM you can get to go to the place youve dreamed about. Thank him again and again. Its like taking a loly pop from a baby, just dont have the heart to do it after they started eating it (ever tried? I have, its hard)

I think this should work, worked for me.....dont tell my DH though :rotfl2:

Sneaky plan...........yes i know........ Hope it works

I was in somewhat the same situation as you just recently, although my DH likes to travel but we weren't supposed to go back to WDW for another 2 years and 11 months!

I can't believe that you haven't heard some of the ideas that I heard when I posted. I can tell you that Dancing Banana's work wonders  , oh, and a little trip to Victoria Secrets :rotfl2: , as I am heading off next spring for my trip! :goodvibes

Good Luck!

I am crossing my fingers for ya...:rainbow:

Maybe you will get him there and he will become a disney junkie like the rest of us!

Ladies,

You are so bad!!!

Enjoy your trips!!!

with the AAA discount...many are saying you can not recieve the room discount with the free dining plan offer. I am assuming that to be true since many of these posters are disney pros. But if you book through AAA you may still quilify for what ever freebie offer they are offering at the time. We recieved free drinks last year...no big deal really, this year we recieved free storytelling adventure, still not sure what that is. I also recieved a free meal at Planet Hollywood and free souviner. In another thread someone told me that was free Disney, but I am still not sure about that only because my friend that is taking her family the same week and we booked within 2 days of each other us with AAA them through Disney, we got it and they didn't. Who knows? And if you are planning on driving back and forth to the parks instead of using the transportation system you will also like the AAA preferred parking. We never use it...but I am sure some do! You also recieve the AAA diamond card that gives you small discounts at some resturants and stores. It is worth at the very least checking out the prices and deals!

LOL!!! :rotfl2: missmun52 and laura001 you crack mee up!! However, at this point, I'm willing to try just about anything.....maybe a trip to Victoria Secrets is in my near future??? :rolleyes1
So, my next question....where to stay for sure. I've stated before that I'm leaning towards CSR, but am up for suggestions, somebody said that POFQ is nice and has a boat to downtown Disney...which would be nice. So, if you were me and your DH was the WORST traveler in the world and understands NOTHING about the love of DISNEY where would you stay? Oh, mod or values only!! TIA

Why don't you give him quotes from Value and Moderate. He might be all over a value - it should be a significant savings. Convince him it's a bargain! We usually stay at Pop Century for that reason.

You may want to check out the resort boards, they will have a lot of imput. Most people dont have negative things to say about CSR except for the size, its a large resort but has an internal shuttle system so not too bad.

Why don't you look at some of the end of summer specials and show them to your husband. :thumbsup2

Well, it seems it was wise of me to not get my hopes up too much, as it just does not seem like Disney is in the plans for us this summer or early fall. :sad1: Things just keep happening (mostly in the finanec dept.) that are preventing us from going. Oh well, I'll still keep my fingers crossed and hope to convince him to go sometime. Thanks for everyone's support!
