Trying a few new places this time around. Been to WC & MM before, but the rest will be new to us. Any feedback on what's the best dishes at these places?
Whispering Canyon
Teppen Edo
Cape May Cafe
Mama Melrose
50's Prime Time (lunch)
Via Napoli
Captains Grille

Any bad choices in the mix?

These are just my opinions ;)

Whispering Canyon - No way would we eat here again, the food was fatty and just terrible

Teppen Edo - Its good but I prefer not to eat here because we have a lot of hibachi places locally that are cheaper, have fried rice and you get the soup and salad and shrimp appie included in the price and at TE you do not get any of that

Cape May Cafe - One of our favorites, been about 10 times and the food is always amazing!

Mama Melrose - Love the shrimp pasta and the salads are excellent!

50's Prime Time (lunch) - Lots of fun and games, the decor puts me right back to my grandmothers house! Great food, love the fried chicken

Via Napoli - amazing! The sauce is just out of this world! Great pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs are to die for

Captains Grille - Have not been in a long time but I remember it was the best pork chop of my life...thinking of adding it back into our schedule for our next trip

I just ate at Via Napoli & 50s Primetime 2 weeks ago. I loved the Chicken Parmesan at Via Napoli, though that is my favorite food, my 2 friends both got pizzas, and loved those too. I wasnt wild about the choices at Primetime, though we were there for dinner. I didnt like any of the options so ordered the fried chicken and removed the fried part. It was ok. One friend got the meatloaf and the other the pot roast and both said they were fine. The focus on that restaurant is the atmosphere and not the food.

I cant wait to eat at Cape May Cafe in 2.5 weeks! Its great food there the last time I went they had crab legs, ribs, salmon and a ton of other good food on the buffet.

I like Whispering canyon, though for lunch. We dont like the pulled pork or brisket thats in the skillet at dinner, we prefer the sausage at lunch time.

Never ate at Teppen or Captains.

I've only been to Whispering Canyon and 50'd Prime Time. Of the two I'd go with 50'd Prime Time. Both times I've eaten there I had a great time, the food was enjoyable and the servers were a lot of fun...

We have been to Mama Melrose and Via Napoli and loved both! My dh loved the chicken parm at mm and I loved the calamari there. We both had the pizza at VN and they were excellent, fresh and crispy.

Hope you have fun:goodvibes

On your list, I've only been to 50s Prime Time. I've had lunch once, and dinner twice....Loved it.

The Pot Roast was good, so was the meatloaf. Other family members have had the fried chicken and salmon. We've never been disappointed.

Whispering Canyon was ok but the food was a bit greasy and bland. The only good thing were the ribs.

Cape May Cafe was good but DH said the seafood wasn't seasoned so we haven't been back. I thought the fried tilapia was really good and I usually hate fish.

Of those resturants, the only one I've been to is 50s Prime Time, lunch. I LOVE the chicken pot pie. One reason I'll do lunch there, but not dinner is that the chicken pot pie is only on the menu at lunchtime.

Have eaten at 3 on your list:

Teppan Edo - My kids ALWAYS pick this restaurant. A must do for us every visit!

Whispering Canyon - Only eaten there once. Nothing memorable but the wait staff. Ask for Ketchup and don't pull out your cell phone. We stayed at VWL in 2010 and skipped it b/c we weren't that thrilled with food choices. Enjoyed picking up food at Roaring Forks and eating by the pool instead.

Cape May - Been there for both dinner and breakfast. Loved them both! Of course, we stay at BCV so the convenience is wonderful.

I've been to 50's Prime Time and Whispering Canyon.

We got great customer service in 50's. The CMs broke character for us and sat down with us (we invited them, got into a really good conversation). That was the standout for us. The food was just regular food, nothing that will blow you away (I remember having meatloaf and also onion rings). But it's a fun experience.

Whispering Canyon - I really liked it. It gets a bad rap from a lot of people, but I liked the food and thought it was fun. Certainly every child in the place was having the time of their lives. It's loud and obnoxious. We ate there twice (on our Honeymoon even). We did stay at Wilderness Lodge, but we had other choices and we chose WC again. I'd go there again if we were staying at WL, but until then I'd like to eat my way through the world with as few repeats as possible. ;)

Thanks so much for the reviews... As I was reading though, I realized that I'm not actually scheduled for the Cape May Cafe, but the Grand Floridian Cafe. I don't hear much on that or on the Captains Grille. Hope they are good!
