Spent the last few days at WDW. We are annual passholders and come over for a few days every couple of months if we can. While we dont mind mixing it up a little, we do have favorite restaurants that we like to visit and I usually get the same thing at each when we do! This visit we not only ate at a couple of spots that are different for us but also ordered new things at the old favorites. Our first day we had lunch at the Sci Fi Dine in Theatre at Hollywood Studios. I had not been there for probably 15 years. I had a reuben and my husband had the NY strip steak. His steak was delicious and came out medium rare as ordered. His sides were cheesy horseradish potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Both were completely bland bordering on tasteless. My reuben tasted like it was supposed to and I really enjoyed the cucumber salad that came with it. While the food was ok, I didnt really enjoy the atmosphere. Sitting in the car seems like kind of a fun concept but it meant the table in front of you is super small and of course you cannot easily talk to your other family members in front or behind you. I felt like if you were kind of sick of being with your family and wanted a very quiet meal in peace it would be ideal! For dinner that evening we stuck with tradition and visited the Grand Floridian Cafe. My husband usually orders the steak there and I always get the shrimp and grits, but since he had enjoyed steak for lunch and neither of us were starving, we split the cheese plate and the Miso glazed salmon with lemon sticky rice and green beans. The cheese plate was great! Came with four different types of cheese and accompaniments to go with them. Salmon was cooked well and the miso glaze added a nice flavor without being overpowering. While there wasnt anything wrong with my dinner I didnt love it as much as I do the shrimp and grits! My son and his girlfriend ordered their favorite french onion soup which was delicious as always. She got the best dinner of all of us. The spinach ricotta ravioli served with kale, mushrooms and a herb pistou yogurt sauce. This was very rich and extremely delicious! My son (who is a little picky) got the pan roasted chicken which is a very safe bet!
