Hello my friends. Just wanted to share my woes. I posted here a couple weeks ago that I had interviewed for a management position with Disney. I didn't get it. Found out today. I allowed myself to cry for about 5 seconds. Now I am very concerned about this big expensive trip I have planned. I need to find another job before the one I have runs out (they are restructing company and poof there goes my position).

I know Who is in charge. I am just trying not to worry. PFM.

I know how you feel. DH interviewed for an on park LAN administration position at the Magic Kingdom maybe four years ago.

He didn't get it either, and it was sad. We cried and knew that it would all work out. He did get a great position, and it still with that same company five years later (in the IT field nowadays, thats a rarity!)

Big {{{hugs}}}

It is okay to be sad. I would be sad too! Don't worry some wonderful job will come your way soon and Disney will be sorry they missed out on having you.

Shellie, I'm sorry to hear the job didn't happen for you. It's hard to let a Disney dream go!

My job also appears it's about to end (the unit I work for may be closing down)--it IS a challenge not to worry.

Shellie, sorry to hear the sad news, but something else always works out for the best. A friend of mine also applied for a job with DVC, and didn't get that either. I would imagine that there is a lot of competition for good jobs at Disney. I remember seeing someone post that they worked a 3rd shift job at Kohls, to finance a trip to Disney. I believe they worked 2 nights a week, and had kids too. I thought that was really smart.
Sending a  . Have you ever thought of working for airlines/hotel/travel services? I'll say a little prayer that something comes your way.

Awe thats a bummer. :grouphug: But maybe thats a sign there is a better paying job out there for you.

You guys are sooo sweet:love: I was maintaining my composure until I was reading all the sympathy! I am really okay now. You are all right - there was a reason I didn't get this one, and it's not b/c I'm not a qualified candidate! The rejection is hard to take and then add to that the percieved loss of Disney MANAGEMENT benefits!! But, all will be well. I still have my job for a while longer. Why panic?

I really want to say a big Thank you. It helps soooo much to know people understand and have been there themselves and I really appreciated Belle..'s saying it was okay to be sad. We get so busy with all the hats we wear that sometimes taking a moment to just FEEL feels like an indulgence we shouldn't take.

Love to all of you.

Shellie

Things always work out for the best!!! Just think - something great is certainly in your future!!!! Think only positive thoughts about yourself, because how you feel about yourself always shows through to other people. YOU know how great you are, but they may not...YET!!!

Hang in there!!! We are all pullin' for you!!! And who says that will be your ONLY opportunity to work for Disney? You just never know!!!!

Wishing you the BEST of things to come!!!!!

Warm wishes to you from Mississippi! I hope everything works out for you with your job search. Remember-- as my grandmother always said--"God never closes a door, but that he doesn't open a window." Read John 14:1

I am so sorry to hear this. But, it is truly their loss.
Hang tough, God loves you. :)

Awww Shellie! I am SO sorry you didn't get the job. However, remember what I told you when we were chatting on AIM the other nite okay? If it's not from....(insert name here), then so be it. Let that door close and another one open. ::yes::

You've opened up your new ING account so just watch it grow okay? I've heard many have funded Disney trips on this account alone! :jumping1: Please remember my advice, if you REALLY want your trip to happen next year, then downsize every possible thing you can without not being able to enjoy yourself while you're there. What's downsizing for me: eating counterservice and bringing snacks instead of a sit down restaurant where I have to tip. No spa treatments or minature golf...and heaven forbid....staying offsite instead of onsite :scared1: considering DH and I will only stay in the Allstars since we enjoy them so much! Once again, my new friend, if the trip is supposed to happen, you better believe He will find a way to make it happen for you.

Blessing always,

Denise  :sunny:

Email or PM me anytime okay?

The perfect job is out there for you! have faith in yourself, and tell yourself, the company that employs me will be lucky because I am .................... DH has just been made redundant after 24 years with the same company, he has secured a new job, but he doesn't start until 1st Oct, and we have a 3 week vacation in Orlando before then, I know that this will all work out for the best as he had not been happy at work for some time, but its a long while until the next paycheck. I hope you find something soon.

Awe Shellie - you know, when we left WDW this year I thought I'd love to work in the parks for Disney. I am sure it's a tough one to get, but you know, just like everyone else says - HE knows what you need and where you need to be, and HE is REALLY good at timing. And I've found it's usually in my mind's "at the last minute" that HE brings everything to fruition. It's really hard not to worry, but as long as you seek HIS will, then your feet will find the path.

And you know what He is SO great to care about our vacations! He really does. I saw evidence of His little blessings the whole time. I know Disney tries to take credit for "magical" moments, but I give Him all the credit. And it makes it just that much more fun to see how He will bring in the extra $$ you will need. Just keep your ears and eyes open.

I'll be thinking about you. Let us know how you're doing.

{{{Sorry}}}}
I'm sure something will come up! Did you try Universal or Loews? They are growing right now.
A good friend of mine worked for Disney for many years as assistant managers at various resorts and restaurants waiting for the top dog position. It never came and he decided to get out. He took some real estate classes and is now operating his own busness and is one of the top realtors in Orlando, making 10 times more then when he was with Disney.
Everything works out for the best.
Good luck!

Hi to all my buddies! You make me feel so good. Thank you.:sunny: I just wanted to update you on my day today.

God is at work. I haven't figured out the outcome, but He sure is doing something! I heard from someone I used to work with today who has a possible job opening in the field I used to work in (at-risk youth education). They are waiting on some funding before making final decisions, but... I also had a conversation with Disney. They are looking at me for a possible different position that they are creating (not for me, but to fill a staffing need). I'm not sure what is going on, but I know HE is in control and I will rest in HIM.
sweet maxine - What a great verse! How come every time you are in need the verse you've read dozens of times seems bran new?
Denise, I'll pm you in a minute.

Thanks again to everyone!

That's great news! Good luck!!!
I just lost my job due to our corporate office closing my dept and after 14 years that was a big blow - but things do work out and I know you will find something great - whether with Disney or not.
