So my husband, me, and our two DD's (6 and 4) are heading to WDW in late June of this year. We decided to add on two nights at WDW and spend a day at IOA because the girls have been begging to go to see the Harry Potter part of it. They have seen only the first few movies but absolutely love them.

My problem is that we are not (and cannot) stay at a Universal hotel (too expensive and I have a code for our WDW one, plus my husband would never change hotels). Plus, we are not purchasing FOTL passes because of the added expense. Just to spend the day there is putting us about $450 (tickets, food, and souvenirs).

So is it worth it? Or will it be so crowded that it will be miserable? We will be there before the park opens and go straight to HP but will we get to do anything else without 2 hour waits? I haven't been to Universal in forever so any advice would be appreciated.

YES....... :yay:

First let me say we have NEVER been to Universal, but if I were you I would wait until I had more time to devote and go to both parks. Also, I don't know how tall your girls are, but the Harry Potter ride (Forbidden Journey) has a 48" height requirement. From reading on here, you can do just a castle tour, w/o doing the ride. I hope whatever you choose, you and your family have an awesome trip! :flower3:

We are going for the first time in June, so we'll see what we think!

It will be too busy during the summer and could possibly be several hours of waiting just to get in to WWoHP making your one day a waste of money. You might want to think about coming back when you have two full days to devote to Universal especially in the summer.
