Try to find Disney Fans in Charlotte NC

Hello Everyone !

My name is Oliver, I'm new on this forum.

Actually I'm a French exchange students in Charlotte, North Carolina and also a HUGE fan of Disney.

I don't know a lot of people here, unless my roomates at the university... So I wondered if it was possible to meet other disney fans in the region and why not get some new friends here !

I went to WDW last september and it was very great! I'd like to return there again but it's quite expensive. I know also Disneyland Resort Paris by heart and I could tell you a lot about it cause I go there each month when I'm at home.

Welcome to the DIS! You will love it here! I'm from the western part of NC, so I can't really help you there. Charlotte is probably 3 hours from here. However, there are Charlotte DISer's out there, just keep looking! (ratpack is one... )

I've been to Disneyland Paris once, during our honeymoon. It was quite interesting, but not as good as WDW!! OK, I'm a little biased, but I can't help it!

What is your major?

Hello !

Thank you very much for welcoming me on the forum and in the USA !!! I'm very happy to have answers so quickly.

Well, that's right, I admit that WDW is the biggest and THE best Disney resort in the world. I couldn't imagin this was soooo huge !

However, I'm happy to have a Disney Resort near Paris. It's like a little piece of America in Europe, that's why I enjoy it ! You can meet a lot of people speaking different languages. It's like a big trip when you go there !

Since almost two years now, we have a second theme park called Walt Disney's Studios park but it is really small compare to MGM.

I've an annual passport for both park. I find it's really cheap (=100€) compare to the price of a day ticket (=39€). But I think our parks are less expensive than the others in the rest of the world, don't you think ?

I'd like to meet disney fans here in North Carolina and why not in Florida, it would be a great experience ! I'd like to create links with American people, your country is sooo amazing !

I could post you some pictures of DLP but actually I don't know how to do it...

I hope to have some news of you soon !

I live in North Carolina, but on the other side of the State. We are located about 1 hour east of Raleigh. I do know there have been DIS meets in Raleigh, maybe you can attend one while you are here?

Hiya Oliver! How are you? WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!! We are located about 20-30 minutes south of Charlotte! I actually work in south Charlotte. We tried to get together a DIS meet at the end of last August and due to various reasons ( sickness, work schedules) it was cancelled. I know there are lots of us nearby!

Maybe we could pick a tentative date/place and see what the response is?

I would LOVE to see your DLP pics when you learn how to load them. There are lots of good tech helpers here (hint, hint Dan Murphy) that could probably help you out.

How did you like this little ice storm we had here this week ... UGH!

I think a meeting in Charlotte would be a great idea, I'd like to join a suche event !

I enjoyed the ice storm last WE. I stayed 4 days in my room on campus, that was awful !!! You know, I don't have car here (i do in France) and it's very difficult to move without... It's not like in Europe where there are a lot of trains, subways, buses etc... But I love your country !
