I've heard of a couple of different rumours on these boards and I was just wondering if some Disney vets could tell newbie folks like myself whether or not there is some truth to them?

For example--I know that they used to let the first guest at Tink's Treasures 'wake Tink up' but now, I am hearing that that is no longer the case. Anyone know for sure what the scoop is?

I also read somewhere that if you are the first guest to ride the Tea Cups that day and Alice happens to be there, she'll ride the Cups with you?

Would love to hear of other interesting rumours if anyone has 'em! Thanks.

Hi, I have personally seen Alice and the Mad Hatter ride the teacups!! Not sure if it was the first ride of the day?? Joan

My Daughter was the special guest of Prince Charming on Cinderella Carosell a number of years back (she was 4 at the time I believe) when the park just opened. He just walked straight over to her, bowed (she curtsied back) and he asked if she assist him. She still talks about the day the prince thought she was Cinderella.

that is the cutest thing ever!!! :goodvibes

I've seen the White Rabbit on the Teacups--it was at a random time.

I've also seen Goofy riding Dumbo! This was either during EMH or MVMCP... I can't remember.

Cool!

Wow. How special she must have felt!

I'm glad to see the characters get in on the action. I wonder if they were on the rides simply because they had the time or if they were there for a specific reason.

Thanks for the posts. Keep 'em coming!

We saw Alice and the Mad Hatter on the Teacups 2 years ago. I'm not sure if it was the first spin of the day but it was towards the beginning. It was cool to ride it at the same time as them. My kids loved it!

My daughter rode Barnstormer with Goofy a few years ago.

We were the first people to ride Buzz Lightyear and got a Magical Moments Certificate and a copy of our picture from inside the ride. Then the cast members came out and took pictures with us in front of Zurg and let us ride again without waiting.

We have been 'family of the day' at Garden Grill. We got a visit from the chef who prepared an appetizer specifically for us...we got to sign the family of the day book and we got a ton of really special character interaction. All the characters came to our table at one time and made us get up from our table and sat down and started 'eating' our food. Mickey came by every few minutes to check on us, then they brought us a small cake in addition to the dessert on the menu.

My daughter was 'princess of the day' at Akershus and a special meet and greet with all the princesses at one time before the restaurant officially started seating. We were seated first and every time the princesses came to our table they would make a big deal to all the tables around us that they were dining with royalty...the princess of the day.

There are lots of wonderful things that can and do happen, most of them are happy accidents and for us, they are all the more meaningful because of it.

My nieces and nephew were pleasently surprized when Tigger came out in the car to ride with them in the Winnie the Pooh ride.

Very cool! Has anyone experienced any other interesting things? I've also heard of little girls being awarded 'honorary princess for the day' (presented with a certificate) at Cinderella's carousel or at Cinderella's Royal Table. I know they used to pick a kid for 'Viking of the Day' in Norway in Epcot and Merlin chose a knight for the day when he used to be around. I've also heard of families being crowned 'Family of the Day' at MK (then asked to become parade marshalls) and at some resorts (with a room upgrade). Anyone else have any interesting stories to these rumours??

For example--I know that they used to let the first guest at Tink's Treasures 'wake Tink up' but now, I am hearing that that is no longer the case. Anyone know for sure what the scoop is?

Tink's treasures doesn't even exist anymore.

i've heard that if you sit on the stone ledge besides Cinderella's Castle you can hear Stitch laughing and and tell you he is hiding...is this true? if it is, what ledge? i know my partner would love it lol x

Cool! Never heard of that one. I've read that Animal Kingdom has a lot of these different types of 'audio' theming--sounds of busy apartment buildings, drumming, crying babies, hushing mothers, etc in the background if you really stop to listen to the area around you. Don't see why they same couldn't be true for MK!

This is so magical! :goodvibes

DH and I were browsing through Mickey's Pantry and a CM came to us and asked if we would choose an appetizer , an entree , and a dessert fron the Mickey's Gourmet Cookbook. We did and then he said that that would be the "special of the day " at one of the Disney restaurants ( I can't remember which one ) and our names and the state that we live in (R.I.) would appear on the "special board " too !!! We got a Magic Certifiate too. :cool1:

That is the first time I've heard of that--very cool experience!!

They let my daughter "call" Tinkerbell. It was in the evening on Halloween day in 2009. We walked in and looked around a bit. My daughter then politely asked a cm if she could see Tink. After she called Tink up (you can see a video on youtube of what it looked like, it was just like when they let you wake her up I guess) they sprinkled our entire family with fairy dust and we got to make wishes. They told me mine had already come true because I had found my prince charming. :rotfl:
