Trundle bed at the Bayou section of Por

Can anyone tell me the approximate size of the trundle? Can a child that's 5 foot tall sleep on it, or is it shorter than that?

My DH is 6'6", and has to have a double bed just for him. So, that leaves one double bed for my DD and me, and that ain't gonna happen, she's all over the place in her own double bed. I was hoping that the trundle bed might be an option for her since it comes with the Bayou rooms, and I really rather not get a rollaway bed for an extra $15 a night.

Any input would be helpfull, I'm trying my best to talk my DH into an Oct. trip, and need to keep the cost down. TIA

I just called there and was told the trundle was 36" x 65". Then she tells me my petite and tiny 12 year will not be allowed to sleep on it, even though she will fit. Only 9 and under, size was no issue. Wouldn't book the room for me. We are already in the system, so they knew her name & age. So if you decide it works for you, don't tell them you will be needing it if your DD is over 9.

I know someone who's 16 YO niece slept on the trundle bed at POR! And they had 5 people in the room. They had no trouble making thier ressie's. I'd call back and see if you get the answer from a different CM. Hopetobee, I would agree with HopperFan, just use the trundle bed. No one will know other than the maid. Have a great time, POR is our favorite resort!!

My 9 year old who is in the 95% for height just used it with no problem. We didn't request a room with one, but I asked at checkin if there were any available. I had to sign a paper saying that I would be responsible for any charges to my room and in small print at the bottom it said $15 a night for trundle bed. The next paper I signed was our room rate and there was no extra charge on there. Has anyone ever been charged extra for a trundle bed?

My DD slept on one when she was 16. She is 5'2" tall and weighs 104 pounds. She did say it wasn't very comfortable. My advice to you would be to save the $15 a day and buy an Aerobed. They are wonderful. After her trundle bed experience, we bought an Aerobed and took it with us to WDW. DD slept on it and it worked out great. During the day, we just slid it under one of the beds.

Just before we moved to Florida, I sold my bed and had to sleep on the Aerobed for two months. It was very comfortable. I think you can get a single one for around $100.

POR no longer charges for the trundle bed.

DD 10 used it fine, she is about 4'5" and she said it was comfy and squishy! The trundle is smallish and I think about 5 foot total.

Would it be possible to put the trundle mattress on the floor and let someone sleep on it who might be a little taller? Or would it be a better idea to just bring a twin air mattress?

Bring the twin air mattress. You can slide it under the other bed and there is room between the door and bed for the air mattress.
