Trouble finding the favorite Christmas gift...

Is anyone else having trouble finding the special toy that their child wants for Christmas? My DS3 wanted the BOY Baby Alive. He was sold out on the Hasbro website and I had a difficult tome finding him except for way too much $ on ebay. Luckily my SIL called me while she was shopping and found one, so his favorite is set.

My DD6 wants the Easy Bake Real Meal oven and from what I can tell it is available only at Toys R Us. So I went to the store today and they were out and had no idea when or if they would get more. No big deal, I thought I could just order it online, but no luck there either. I called the 800 number and was told that they have no idea when more will be arriving, but they always sell out quickly.

I am really getting frustrated! Just wanted to know if anyone else is in the same boat...

I'm with you! My DD4 has a knack for making up toys that don't exist. I guess I should be glad she has a good imagination. ;) This year she wants a Disney Princess vanity (but not the actual one we see commercials for 20 times a day). She drew me a picture of a pink and purple one, with flowers on top and drawers for dresses and wigs, and three lipsticks (pink, red, and purple) and fancy snacks in case she gets hungry while doing her hair. :rotfl2: I bought the Step2 pink/purple/white one, and I'm going to add some princess decals. That should be "good enough," I hope! She also wants a Barbie Island Princess digital camera with matching photo album. I told her I'd never seen one like that, and she said "that's OK, Santa can make it!"

Last year she had my mom looking all over for some Little People toy. My mom finally called me to ask where we had seen it, because she had been to about 10 different stores and no one had it. Turns out, that was something DD had made up as well! And it's darn hard to think of a Little People toy that DOESN'T exist. I think she has a future career in toy design.:rotfl2:

It's still early, so hopefully you have plenty of time to find the perfect presents for your little ones! Good luck!

My kids think that the elves will make them custom orders, too! I know it is early, but leave for WDW on the 8th and come home the 15th, so I really want the majority of my shopping done before we leave. I had no idea that the Easy Bake Oven was so popular!
