Hi, all! Decided to ask the question here instead of calling the hotel directly since I'm embarassed that I have called twice tonight. I know some of the differences--such as family suites are located toward the back and have a full size stove and fridge and the Disney suites only have a mini fridge and microwave but have a balcony (for fireworks watching?) and are located at the front. My questions are: How much farther is the front from the back of the hotel--is the hotel pretty compact that the walk won't be a huge difference in steps? Size wise how do the two compare? I wish the floor layouts were on the website, from the virtual tour it looks like there are two bathrooms in the disney suite? Also, the website says they are renovating the pool. Has anyone seen or know what upgrades it's getting? Please have mercy on me and any information nuggets you can throw my way are appreciated!!:thumbsup2

It's a ways to the very back, since it's not a compact hotel. We had a room in the middle and that wasn't bad of a walk at all. Even all the way to the back is perfectly doable, and still closer then a lot of other hotels.

I can't compare the suites since we just had a standard room. I'd love to be able to watch the fireworks from there (we could see them from right outside our room door). But I wonder if being that close to the street would make it noisy?

Thanks for your reply! Did you get to enjoy the pool? What is the pool scene like? Did it look like it needed a major overhaul? When I went to WDW we stayed at ALL STARS and my boys loved the pool becaise they had lifeguard kids directing pool activites. Does Tropicana do that?

When we stayed there no lifeguard was on duty. The pool and hot tub are nice, that is really the only thing we liked about the hotel besides the location. We had a standard room on the main floor and it was way too small for three people so hopefully a suite will be larger for you.
