Has anyone every stayed there. I booked there over the weekend and read the reviews, but those can be doctored. They have a awesome military discount, but I am wondring are the rooms clean? And with paying for parking with that included we would be paying as much as staying at HoJo. But it is so close to the gate that the parking fee seems worth it. Any feed back would be great. :thumbsup2

It's been years but yes, we've stayed there. I would honestly chose HoJo over the Trop because the HoJo is nicer and the staff is nicer. Rooms are pretty basic, but nice enough and the walk is great, but I'd still chose the HoJo. :)

I called about the military discount rooms over the weekend and was told they don't have them anymore--guess I should call again. We stayed at the Tropicana last June for a week and it was fine. So close to the pedestrian walkway and clean rooms. A little noisy at times, but worth it overall.

We stayed there last July and it was fine. Rooms were clean, everything functioned. Was it 5 star?? Nope. But it was super close to the cross walk.

I love that the Tropicana is so close to the cross walk. I've stayed there once a year or two ago and have reservations for this next Sunday. I"m looking forward to staying there again and for cheap :thumbsup2

This is where we stay if were not onsite. We love the location, it is basically right there in front of the crosswalk in to the entrance of DL. The rooms are clean, and they have a nice size pool/spa area. If you get the top floor you can see fireworks from your room. We'd just open the door and sit on the bed and watch them. I agree it's not 5 star, but we really like it. We like it better then our stay at HoJo's even.

I stayed here with my son last December and really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was very friendly, and one even when above and beyond to make sure my Super Shuttle arrived (it was 30 minutes late.)

Our room was clean, spacious, and the bed was large and comfortable. I would stay here again if the price was right.

We have stayed here every year for about 10 years (except last year). I love how close it is. The rooms are clean, they are pretty quiet. I am not at the DL for the motel, so this place is good enough. The continental breakfast is the usual, but we never eat there.

We are looking to take a quick trip before our annual trip in Oct, and we will be staying at the Tropicana

We have stayed at both HoJo and Tropicana. I personally, liked Tropicana best because of it being so very close to the crosswalk and we were also in the suite that you could see fireworks from the balcony. I really liked the big Jacuzzi tub in the suite. My family, which includes three boys loved Hojo. They didn't mind the walk and liked the onsite water park very much! We also enjoyed how close it was to Mimi's walk up window for "to go" orders! I always dreaded the walk back after a day in the parks and got wistful as I passed the Tropicana--thinking "I could be there right now". Oh well--both are good!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Thank you! I was so worried that you guys would give bad reviews. I'm excited now:banana: I know HoJo is the place to go when at DL, but I wanted to be close to the gate and able to hop back to our room for a quick bite to eat for lunch. Thanks again!

One trip we took we needed to be a super budget trip so we took all our food with us, we ate the free breakfast they offer (supplemented with a few of our own things, like fruit and good juice), went to the parks where we would eat lunch and then we did dinner in the room. We took things like cup of noodles (only the big huge ones that will feed a whole family), mac and cheese cups, lunch meats, cheese, I sliced veggies and we made salads, staying at the Tropicana it was easy to do that. :)

I do prefer the HoJo over the Trop tho, simply because of price. But if we can't get the Retro Rate at the HoJo we check the CCI and the APH because quite often there are great rates at these hotels as well. :) We never had a jacuzzi tub at the Tropicana, that would have been amazing after a long day at the parks. :)
