ok we did this tour and had a fun time.. yes u actually went

4x4 ing off road and end up at a nice beach where lunch is made for u they served chicken and Beef fajitas and cheese Quesadillas, chips and salsa and bottled drinks...
and u spend about 1;30 minutes at the beach was very nice food was good... guides where great and u get to eat some dust
and u Make 2 PEE PEE stops , there is a store called the
pee pee station ..... was fun

things i did not know ,,

1) that the Vehicle used for this excurrsion was not a JEEP
it was a GEO Tracker,, with 130,000 miles on it ........
but it was advertised and they did show a JEEP on the Stateroom TV..

2) they also said the vehicle is a Standard Shift Vehicle
it was an automatic.....

3) and for the $160.00 cost of this trip for 2 u do not get your own vehicle , if there is only 2 people in your party u will have 4 to a vehicle ...

u will have to split driving the vehicle accordingly
so that means that on the way back we got to sit in the back seat of a GEO TRACKER 4x4 and eat dust .....
while the other couple sat up front .....
was not very happy about those little things
and also directing my thought to the excurrsion Dept. DCL

Sounds interesting...we are booked for this one!!
I know this may sound like a silly question, but do they have loud mufflers or backfire at all? I have a problem with my ears, and noises at a certain pitch (e.g. backfire, gunshot) are painful. I just don't want to spend the whole tour with my ears covered!!

Hi Barb.... There were no real loud noises on this one, but you are in a vehicle with no top, so you get the noise from the truck going over the big bumps and stopping fast in the sand. You will get very dirty though!! I think I had 5 pounds of dust on me when we got back to the ship!! It was great fun!!

BARB DO LET US KNOW if anything changes on this tour
hope that they use real jeeps , was not happy about that...
when u think u r getting a disney cruise and it is the big red boat know what i mean ...
and i also did not like the fact that did not have your own vehicle ... and had to share driving with some one that u are unfamiliar with there driving habits can be not so fun when u r riding in back

Thanks for the warning!! The bumps and stops won't bother me, but I'll be sure to wear grungy clothes due to the dust!
I'll be sure to report on the vehicles. I suspect that it might not change right away, but if enough people complain, they will either change the way it's advertised or use real Jeeps. We chose this one because it sounded really different (even tho' I love Xcaret, we wanted to try something new). Of course, I don't think any shore excursion will ever beat dog sledding on a glacier, which we did on our Alaskan cruise.
