Just wanted to let my fellow Disney Brides (and the moderators) know that we are being made fun of by the girls that are just "too cool for their own good" on the Married Life board of the Nest dot com. They are talking about coming over here to start trouble...please ignore them...they have no lives so they are judging us...sad, I know!!!

Today is mine AND dh's anniversary...we usually go to WDW for the week...but with our little prince being only 2 months old, we had to miss it this year!!! Please send happy Disney-vibes and Pixie Dust...maybe he will take me shopping at the Disney Store....

There were MANY threads on there all day yesterday! Me and 2 other Dis Brides were trying to keep the peace, but those girls are vicious!!! One girl had never even been to WDW (or DL for that matter)!! Poor, deprived girls, they are!!!

It must be the same people and they are members on both boards... otherwise how did yesterday become the next WWIII? Nothing out of the ordinary happened yesterday and out of all my time here on this board-- I have never seen such in my life.

I missed all the "fun" last night...but here's my take on what's been going on...

Many of the posters on the knot have a preconceived notion of what a Disney wedding really is. It shouldn't be surprising since many brides here have had to deal with those same misconceptions from family members.

It's called ignorance (as defined by most common dictionaries)...they have a severe lack of information and knowledge (and IMO imagination...but that's beside the point ).

However WE know that Disney weddings can be classy and timeless or casual and whimsical...the thing is...we have had the kind of wedding WE want!!!

Don't let them bother you.

To be honest, I was bothered by some of the ring comments (and if any of them had posted a pic of my ring, I would have reported it quickly as a violation of copyright). My DH picked my ring out. Someone on that board mistakenly called it a red heart shaped diamond when it is actually a ruby. This was a ring he picked with his own heart and thoughts. To question the shape, color, and style of his gift would be the ultimate in tacky.

They are proving what many people think about brides...that they are OCD and quickly turn to bridezillas!

Let it roll off your back ladies! Be the classy brides I know ALL of us are and rise above the fray.

I was extremely peeved by the whole ring thing. I noticed it when I got a quick glance at the board. Did they post a picture of your ring? I saw someones ring on there from here (the ring with the heart). We aren't exactly dealing with classy people here, obviously deprived women who either haven't been to disney world or haven't fallen in love and are bitter! Don't you let them bring you down! It's all jealousy, remember that too. It doesn't matter what the ring looks like as long as you adore it and it's from your DF, that's all that matters!

They told me back in Oct that don't be surprised if she says no and laughs in your face if you give her "that thing", which by the way was the exact engagement ring she wanted.

Well here is the engagement ring I got (5/8 cwt diamond 14K white gold)

Thanks. We actually went into the store I got it from to look for a new watch for myself and she started looking and engagement rings and pointed that one out to me and said that is the one she wanted. While she was at another store in the mall, I ducked away and went back and got it along with the wedding band.

You should have seen her face when I gave the engagement ring to her. She has no idea that I also got the matching wedding band so I can't wait until our wedding day to see her reaction again.

Yep. It was back in October. It got to a point that I asked a moderator to delete the post because the attacks her getting pretty bad. I originally just brushed it off, but they kept making more and more fun of it. I think one of them actually said that unless it's 4 ctw or more forget it, so that shows you where there priorities are at. They were just a couple of people trolling on here and not anyone that is usually on this board.

Wow - I feel sorry for people that are so materialistic. Anyone who puts that much stock into material goods, is obviously covering up for the more important things (love, kindness, support, etc.)

The same co-worker who said she's throw her ring at her then-boyfriend's head if it was under 2 carats tries to pretend that her boyfriend's bar-going, video-game playing ways don't bother her when she's missing him. I mean really, what's more important?

i think it's a cool ring. now a days i think women want rings that were popular in the 20's and that ring is definitely reprisentative of that era. i for the longest time thought my great-grandmother's ring from 1910 was gorgeous (it has fillagree on the side and it is probably a 0.5 carat diamond in a bezel setting).

i've already told my boyfriend that if we get married some day that i want my grandmother's tiffany ring from the 1940's (not because it's tiffany's, i could seriously care less about that, but because it means a lot to me to have a family heirloom.) i think it's probably 0.6 carat only, but it's gorgeous, sparkly, low set, and in yellow gold (which is unusual for a tiffany engagement ring, they actually only made yellow gold rings during wwii because it was said to be unpatriotic to have a platinum ring.)

i feel like the only thing that matters to people now is bigger is better. personally i would rather have a home and not be in debt than to have my boyfriend buy me a 200,000$ ring because i needed a 4 carat piece of junk.

ps. here's what my ring will look like (i took this from some auction website online, so it's not mine, but it looks exactly like it). it's not anything special to look at, but i think it's gorgeous and very meaningful to me.
