Cast - me, 40(just!) 3rd trip to DLRP this year
dd, 6 (my favourite excuse to go to DLRP)
dniece, 7 (2nd ever trip to DLRP)
Wednesday 21st November.
Up early again, this is our last day in the parks. Early breakfast again, as there is EMH this morning, and we want to make the most of our time. Packed and checked out of the room by 8.20. Again we walked from the Cheyenne to the parks, and were in Fantasyland by 8.45. In an hour, we had done Peter Pan, carousel, teacups and Dumbo (twice) with no lines. Then we went to Buzz, and literally raced through all the corriders of the pre-ride area, straight onto the ride. I've never seen it so quiet!
After Buzz, we left the main park (stopping for more twirling in the snow when the tinkly music started again on Main St) and arrived at the Studios just before Donald Duck came out for the start of his meet and greets in the front lot. Dniece wanted his autograph, and she only had to wait a few minutes to get it. Then we went to Cars, which was only a 5-minute wait, then the Flying Carpets (a walk-on). Stopped for a bite to eat and a seat in the Place des Stars, as there is a little "thing" goes on there 3 or 4 times a day. We were there at 11.15, and saw it. WOW
is all I'm going to say here - I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for you guys still to see it - but its fabulous
Lets just say, dd and dniece got some autographs and pics I never thought they would
.
We then ran over to Animagique for the 11.45 show (and I've still got the theme song running around in my head) and all enjoyed it as usual. This was our first ever show on our first ever DLRP trip, so it holds a special place in my heart. We intended doing Cars again, but there was a 20-minute line showing, so we said Bye to the Studios, and headed back over to the main park.
We rode the Paddy Wagon up to the castle, then the car back down. We then just had time to watch Casey Jnr and the Character Express again before heading over to the Lucky Nugget for lunch at 1pm. I've never been in there before, and WOW
it was great. The food was good, the decor is excellent, and cosy, and the characters - well, they were falling over each other to interact with all the diners
! Robin Hood met us at the door, dniece's fave, Minnie, was there, the Sherrif of Nottingham kept trying to extort money from dd in exchange for her pen, which he snaffled and put in his bag a couple of times, Gepetto was dancing about like a mad thing, and my all time fave, Goofy, came by our table 3 times, and each time I got a big hug
! WOW again
.
Pluto, Mickey and Eeyore were also there, and seemed to come round the tables constantly in the hour and a half we were there for.
After lunch, we walked over to Buzz, but it was temporarily stopped, so we decided we'd watch the 2.30pm Lion King Show instead. Great as always - the woman who plays Nala is an amazing singer I think. We then took the shortcut at the back of Discoveryland up to Fantasyland, and saw loads more characters near the gates at IASW, including King Louie, Penguins from Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, Gepetto, Prince John again I think, plus another couple I can't remember. The girls got a big hug and pic with King Louie, then we went for our last rides in Fantasyland - we did Alice's maze, IASW (again) and then to Peter Pan for our last ride this trip. Just as the opening music for the Parade started, we said Goodbye to DLRP.
Uneventful trip back from the Cheyenne to the airport on the VEA, flight left early, and then we were home. My sister tells me dniece hasn't stopped talking about her trip for the past 2 days solid, and me and dd keep bursting into song ("Anima-joke?"
or "Just like we dreeeeeamed it" )
For those of you still to go this Christmas season - I'm very jealous
, but very excited for you
!
