Hey guys!
Well, I'm finally in a place where I can start thinking about returning to training and planning a race schedule (if you missed it on the weekly thread, I had a miscarriage about 10 days ago so I needed to relook at all my plans and commitments - again). Thanks again to everyone who wished me well - our whole family is in a good place, feeling very blessed and surrounded by love.
I am hoping to get back to exercising this week. My plan is to start with a 30-40 minute walk on Thursday and during the weekend and ease in. If that seems to be going well I'll try to ramp it up a bit more next week. One big goal I have for this year is to add in much more consistent cross-training - in particular some core work (probably pilates or yoga which I enjoy a lot), and some non-running cardio (probably biking).
I am debating whether my first big race this year will be the Broad Street Run (10miler) here in Philadelphia, or the Country Music Half in Nashville. I am leading towards Broad St., since I'm not sure I can afford the travel expenses. We'll see. I'm thinking of taking on the challenge of the Beach to Bell in September, which would be the Virginia Beach Half on Sept. 6, followed 2 weeks later by the Phila. Distance Run Half! That sounds like fun to me - not quite a Goofy, but a really good challenge.
And I did decide that I want to do the Disney Full next January! Yay

! I'm excited and nervous. I know I can be ready, but the full distance really intimidates me.
So I should be back on track for contributing miles & minutes by Feb. 1. I'm looking forward to continuing playing with this great team!
