Triple Checking - Reallocating Points

Hi all,

I wanted to check with a few of the experts on the Disboards...I believe I can do this, and swear MS said I could, but let me know if it sounds doable.

After borrowing for a trip in 2010, my 2011 UY was left with 47 points. I made reservations for Dec 2011 and had 17 points left. I then made a reservation for Oct 2011 for which I used my remaining 17 points and had to borrow from my 2012 UY.

Now I need to cancel two of my nights (26 points) from October. Can I ask them to reallocate so I end up with 26 2011 UY points which I can then bank, even though some of the 2011 points were used for the Dec reservation? Would they have to do all new reservations or just reallocate? I'd rather not cancel and rebook as I know both weeks (Oct and Dec) are basically sold out DVC wise. Too afraid I'd lose the reservations.

The points borrowed from 2012 will remain in your 2011 Use Year. The points returned to your account should be able to be reallocated if they were Home Resort points reserved at 11 months or if they were from different resorts at 7 months.

I would verify that they won't need to cancel and rebook. If you are told they need to cancel, hang up and call back for another MS rep.

Thanks webmaster Doc. Thankfully I just need to cancel about half of what I originally had left in 2011 UY. I'll be using all the borrowed points!
