hey
a friend just got me onto www.tripit.com
its fantastic
you can make an itinerary and email it your confirmations etc, and it adds them, you can add photos, info etc.....
just spent the last few hours on it, awesome :surfweb:
thought I'd share..and its free :thumbsup2
let me know what you think

I have trip it. Never got into it :confused3 I have so many travel apps that maybe that's why (I'm a touch obsessed with travel apps :rotfl:)

I spent ages filling it out before our trip but then, in the end, I preferred to type up my own itinerary as that was what I was used to reading :rotfl2:

That was me :rotfl: I had a good play with it, put in info, then put the whole thing in the "too hard basket" :rotfl:

my technological gifted friend showed me all the little bits and bobs on it.....so easy when you know how..and the auto adding from confirmation emails is awesome....
I'll give it a whirl and see how I go...

I really like it so far. What I love is looking at it on my iphone wherever I am and it saying you have xxx days until your next trip.

I love how I put in the cruise details and it says what ports we are going what days and the time in each port etc. Plus flight details....

I really liked TripIt and used it on my last trip cause I had complicated the trip with too many bookings. It was great to have on the phone and carry around with me.
But that's where I came undone. It doesn't accept auto-update on everything and I did lose track of a couple of bookings which changed and I hadn't kept track of which I had updated and which I hadn't.
the biggest problem was realising that my flight was different from what I was walking around with in TripIt :scared1:
So I then had the lack of confidence thing happening and had to double check everything.
However for 12 months I too was in love with it - and for the vast bulk of my trip I enjoyed using it.

Thanks for the share...will check it out and have a play :)

I'm a fellow lover of tripit. Its handy for family members as well. You can share itineraries so they know where you are staying at various stages of your trip.

I've been using it for over a year now, and I love it. It's fantastic for business trips.

I found it invaluable while we were away, I had all my character meal reservations on it (as well as everything else) which meant I had everything I needed in my hot little hand (literally - on my iphone) to ring and make changes as needed. Which I did a lot, lol.

Just thought I'd revive Karen's Tripit post .

I've used it for several trips but it's been getting better every year and I noticed that now, if you have an iPhone or iPad ( or Mac) you can link your Tripit trip to your iCloud calendar. Now, every time I add a new booking it automatically shows up on my phone and iPad calendar. Love it!

Just thought I'd bring that up for any other Apple-heads out there :goodvibes

:thumbsup2

Thanks for this!! I just started an account, but I have to head off to work soon, so will have to play with it on my days off!! It will be interesting to see how it works!

do you know if it is supported by other smartphones, such as the galaxy II or galaxy note? we're not iphone users, and i don't want to set up something and then find out it won't switch to my smartphone :(

I just got it on my galaxy s2, so yes it is available on android :thumbsup2

On my upcoming trip it gives me directions on how to get from the airport to my hotel by car, does anyone know how to change that to by train?

I don't think you can :(

The directions are based on the directions service in Google maps, I can see where you can change it to "Drive". "Walk" or "Bicycle", but train isn't an option.

Are you looking for directions for your Japan trip? Maybe one of these sites could help. http://www.hyperdia.com/en/ or http://www.tokyo-subway.net/english/
