My BLT trip last week used all of my points for quite some time. I made a reservation today for a 1 bedroom at BCV paying cash for President's week. They gave me a DVC discount (20% or something like that) and said if they come out with the 40% off code like last year I can apply it later.

What are the major differences between staying on points and cash? I assume I will not get free Internet and I will get mousekeeping each day. Am I correct? Anything else? Would I get more benefits if I rented points?

I wouldn't think so as with your member card you should get the same benefits as with the KTTW card stating *DVC MEMBER* I think.

We stayed a couple of nights in a DVC villa paying cash through MS with the 25% discount. I was told we did not receive daily mousekeeping since we booked through MS, which was actually fine with us because we did not want it. I think you are correct about the internet, you only get it free staying on points. It didn't seem we missed out on anything by paying cash through MS as opposed to staying on points, except the free internet, and we didn't gain any perks. Now if you switch to a code I believe you'd have to book through CRO and then you would get daily mousekeeping.

Thanks for the info. The mousekeeping doesn't matter to me either. I just was curious if I was forgetting about anything. :)

If you booked the cash stay through member services, it is considered a DVC reservation. You would get free internet, it would say DVC Member on your KTTW, limited housekeeping.

I think if you want the 40% off, you will have to go to CRO. Then it will not be a member stay.

How do you get the 40% off your stay, curious as to how this can be done.

Good to know. Then, as of now, we will have the free Internet. I guess if the 40% off code comes out again it would be worth giving up though.

The last two years around Christmas Disney released a code to get 40% at deluxe resorts and villas for certaing time frames. Don't know if they will do it again this year.

How do we receive the code.

Sometimes you can get those codes if you are a Disney VISA holder.

one more question - if the 40% off code comes out later - do I call MS (who I made my origianl reservation with) or the regular Disney reservation number?
