This trip report is a little delayed. Our trip was in July, but haven't been thinking about it until lately. On our way home from Florida to northern
California, I had to get off the plane in Kansas City because of extreme pain in my abdomen. Got rushed to the hospital and found out I had a tumor on my kidney and it bled, a lot. I was in the hospital for 6 nights there. When we were on the plane, my wife had to decide what to do with out 2 daughters (4 & 8). Luckily, on the way from Orlando to Kansas City I was sitting next to a perimedic, she helped me on the flight. She was a guardian angel for our family as she sat with our kids the rest of the way to Sacramento, where my mother in law was waiting at the gate for them. Didn't get home for a week later. Our wonderful 3 week trip was the last thing on our minds, until lately.
The 3 weeks there was wonderful, not as hot as humid as the previous summer. We did get more rain, but that was ok. We stayed at 3 different resorts, (POR, CSR and the Dolphin). All three we great. We had a couple of nights at MK EMH where there was hardly no one there, no lines at any ride, plus on top of that my children rode the Dumbo ride with Goofy and Donald, they loved that. All in all it was a wonderful trip and hope to do it again next year. As for me I go into surgery Oct 1 to have part of my Kidney removed.
They say the tumor is called an Angiomyilapoma, which is benign. Something like this makes you see things differently. Its important to enjoy and treasure every moment you have with your family and friends. My wife and children have been great through all of this, and when I'm all better, which I will be by next summer, I want to bring them back for another 3 weeks to WDW.
