Trip to WDW at Christmas

Good Evening!
We were as you see in my countdown planning on going to BCV for thanksgiving for 8 days .We still are, this will be our first time there being offical DVC Members. Lately we have been deciding to what to do for christmas. We usally go to pittsburgh as most of my moms family is there and my grandparents from florida go up there for holiday. This christmas we had a hard descision to make as my poor grandpa has to have some serious back surgery soon. So it looks like they won't make it to pittsburgh then. Our family had to decide if we would just go to pittsburgh anyways and see everyone there or go to florida and see them, or do nothing! My parents decide they want to go to FL. YAY! Guess what that means, we get to go to disney for 5 days and then we will drive over to Tampa and visit grandparents. So we would be arriving December 20 and checking out December 24th. We will be using our DVC Points and probably stay at WLV. How busy should it be then? I am assuming it will just get busier as the week goes on. We have only been once for christmas and I dont remember it being to bad. So what should excepect? I can't believe we are going again. I think we are going to WDW way to much LOL So should we do Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or wait until December 2005 and go after our cruise? Also do you think they will have any annual pass rates then? Since we are going in november and then in it december we will get annual passes. Sorry for the long post.

And congratulations on being able to go to WDW twice during te holiday season.

I think that you should definitely go to MVMCP during your Thanksgiving trip. Last year they let people enter the Magic Kingdom at ~4:00 P.M. with their separate MVMCP ticket instead of 7:00 P.M.. But if you have Annual Passes, then you could go earlier and just stay in the park.

Last year, the WDW castmembers herded everyone to the MK Tomorrowland section from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. until the official opening.

I prefer to get a priority seating before 6:00 P.M. at the MK Liberty Tavern restaurant, enjoy a wonderful meal with characters and then just walk out afterwards just before 7:00 P.M., te official opening time, and I'm already to enjoy the MVMCP.

In your December trip, you'll love the WDW Wilderness Lodge christmas decorations. And don't forget to ask for "catsup" when dining at the WL Whispering Cafe restaurant.

I would definitely plan on doing MVMCP. I'm not sure what day of the week Xmas will fall on this year. It will be busy that week, but the good news for you is it will be even worse the week between Xmas and New Years. We went the same time 3 years ago. They have longer hours. Definitely plan on going early or staying late. The crowds will be better.

You will not be able to attend MVMCP as you are arriving on the 20th. December 19 is the last party. December 20 begins the Holiday Season (price wise) at WDW so that's when the crowds will begin to build. The park hours should also be extended and there is lots happening.

One thing to keep in mind if you haven't been to WDW at Christmas for awhile. Think"layers". You may get nice warm temps but the weather has a habit of taking a nose dive at this time of year. It could be anything from cool to downright cold. Lots of activities are outdoors at night so a pair of gloves and layers of clothing are just as necessary as the bathing suit.
