Trip Tip: How to get to the front of the line

Was lucky enough to do the VIP tour 2 years ago. (My aunt has connections so they were comp tickets. Woo hoo!) It was a great way to do Universal. No long lines, access to the most popular attractions. If I went on my own I'd seriously consider paying the $120 to be a VIP.

Barry, are all rides open for Early Entry? We are going in December before Christmas and will have AAA tickets. Are Early Entry days more crowded at the EE park (as is the case at WDW)?

I have a question about Universal Express. If you have a multiday ticket, can you get up to three passes at a time?

It appears I may be in Orlando tomorrow.

Do multiday ticket holders get No Line, No Wait access for the first two hours and when can you start getting Express passes?

No multiday ticketholders get "No line, no wait." You can start getting UE tickets right at the park's opening.

Barry: Do any passes bought at AAA qualify or only multi day tickets? We have friends going with us who only plan to purchase 1 day tix through AAA. Will they be able to get in early, too?

I hard the same thing, hope it is true.

What I'm trying to say is -- if we purchase tix at AAA we are eligible for early entry, correct? And do those tix have to be multiday tix or can 1 day tix get the early entry privilege?

Sorry Barry but i cant see a repsonce to this and i am in the same boat.....

I just purchased 3 day escape passes to US. The website said escape passes have early entry privileges.Does anyone know anything about escape passes.

Will we get EE? Mines a 2 day. Sorry to ask again but this wasnt availible at all the last time i went to IOA so its all new to me.

Thanks again.

Escape passes are also known as 2 or 3 day passes. That was the old name of the passes when the resort was known as Universal Studios Escape.

Universal Express is great! We went to US/IOA in May and used Express constantly. It was great because you could have up to three open Express tickets at one time, so you never really had to wait in line. We used it especially on Jurrasic Park, Ripsaw Falls and the Bilge Rat Barges, and it saved us a ton of time (love them water rides!). If you don't know about Express, ask them when you get there. It's amazing to me how many people are still not using it!

We are staying on site in 3 weeks and want to make sure I understand. We will get FOTL entry for rides even if they don't have Express? Also, about Hulk, I don't care aoubt the front seat, and know that doens't count, but what aobut just a regaulra seat? I would love to use it on this!

Nope, FOTL is not happening. Hasn't for a while. Barry, it's the express line you get into with a room key. The only true FOTL is the tour, and that's NO line. Nada, zip. etc.

Sorry, I am an old timer and still refer it to FOTL. I better say that it is an all-day Universal Express pass.

what is the difference between fotl and express pass? what is the advantage of staying onsite, one person on this site posted that he had three open express passes at one time, is this possible or do you have to use one and then get another. please explain, thank you!!

Onsite guests can use their keys as an all-day Universal Express pass. You just show your key to the ride attendant and you get to go through the Universal Express line as many times as you want during the day. People who do not stay onsite can get one Universal Express pass at a time.

Barry;
This must have been changed since our trip last May.
On the day we went to IOA, we each had open passes for Jurassic and the wait was for quite some time. So we went over to Bilge-Rat Barges and got passes for that and Ripsaw Falls, walked back and did Jurrasic, then went back over and used our passes for the Barges and the Falls. We did the open double or triple Express passes several times during our two days at USF/IOA.
As a matter of fact, I commented to my wife a few days later that this was another area where USF had surpassed WDW, in that they would allow three open passes, while WDW only allows one open at a time. I hope USF has not followed WDW on this policy.
