We are on the DDP so most meals and snacks are covered...I am planning on an additional $20/day for food/snacks but don't think we will really need it all. I've accounted for our airport parking fees, cash for in the airports (coffee, magazine, food, etc...). We've got money set aside for souvieners. Seems I must be forgetting something. Any thoughts???

If you are renting a car, don't forget money for the valet parking. Also, add in "tip" money for the housekeeping, bellman, etc. But don't forget to have a great time! :)

If you are renting a car, toll money.
Enjoy your stay at the Poly! We'll be at POP starting on the 20th!!!

Photo money.
Or are you budgeting it in with the souveneirs? I plan on pre-purchasing the PhotoPass CD, but I am a sucker when it comes to meal/ride photos!

And I agree with the resort mugs.

Have a GREAT time! :woohoo:

Rolls of quarters for pressed pennies and for laundry if you are planning on doing some.

We filled the mini m&m containers with stacks of 2 quarters and one penny so that when the kids saw a machine we didn't have to dig for change. We went through 3 tubes, but it was worth it and the kids LOVED looking for machines.

Did you budget for tipping at the hotel?

How about extra $$ for:
Tips
Any of the little boat or bike rentals
hand drawn artist photos
extra cool snacks for kids
any sundry items you may have forgot
any extra tours
arcade fun money for kids
calling cards

How many of you are in your party? I would add a little more for spending. We tend to drink a lot of water/soda in the parks. At $2.00+ for some drinks it can really add up. Also, do you plan on doing any laundry? If so, that can get pricey.
Don't forget tipping expenses.

Water, water, water. It is $2.00 a bottle in the parks ($2.50 if you go into Club Cool and get the customized wrapper :) ). Vending machines at the Poly charge $2.50 for pop...they take singles and fives, but you get your change in quarters either way.

Valet guys get tipped, bellmen get tipped, housekeeping gets tipped. It seems like every time you turn around, there is someone to tip. Bring a lot of single dollar bills and five dollar bills or you'll spend half your vacation trying to get change.

Tolls are $2.50 going to WDW and $2.00 out. At least the way I go.

And the rental car always ends up being more than I'd planned. Oh, and gas. You need gas sometimes.

You may shop more than you think, so you might plan on more spending money than you thought. How can you not buy something in a place called the BouTiki?! On the other hand, you might have great self-restraint. :) You'll need it!

Have a great trip!

Thanks so much...your right...I didnt think about tipping, laundry, and mugs!!! Yikes, so glad I asked!!! We are not renting a car, so no problems there! Oh ya, the boats at the Poly, how could I forget. Uh oh, I think we might need to take more than originally thought...why does that always happen??

One more thing...anyone remember how much the washer and dryers are??

I think 2.50 to wash and 2.00 to dry?? I think that is what it was at the CR.

A CM passed this on to us: if you get mugs and are on the DDP any CS meals at the resort you can get a bottled water as part of your meal and use the mug for a drink. I bring $ for cabs so if we're dining at different resorts we can can get there or leave quickly if we want rather than waiting for Disney transportation. Its not necessary, but can be so nice!

Oh yes, I second having some cash for taxis. We find them the easiest way to go from our hotel to another resort for dinner or lunch.

If you enjoy adult beverages-bring extra $$ for that-that cost can add up fast at resort prices! For example-I loved the Grey Goose Mango Sunset Cosmo at WL's pool bar last December-each one was $10.75 plus tax and tip=which makes this drink about $13-14 each!:scared1:

Wait a minute-I just looked at some of the receipts from last trip (I have a passporter from that trip-no biggie) it seems different bartenders charged us different prices for that same drink during our trip-one day it was $10.75, one day it was $9.00, and one day it was only $6.50...hmmm? Anyway...I also had a pre-dinner drink at the Poly's Tambu Lounge that was $9.00 and a Lodge Fizz at WL's Territory Lounge was $9.00 each-seems like $9 is the general resort bar drink price.

We were there over 10 days-please don't think I did all this drinking in 4 or 5 days!

You can get free water at any counter service. I would bring the single packets (crystal light, tea, powerade) of your favorite drink though the water at disney world does not taste good.

We park "offsite" at the airport so we tip the shuttle that brings us to the terminal.
Our airport charges for curbside baggage check-in, and the sky caps expect a tip on top of that. I bring money for a snack at the airport, because there is no food on the flight.
I make tip envelopes for Housekeeping and Magical Express before we leave home.
I make an envelope for locker rental - it's $7 but you get $2 back if you turn in the key. I put $1's and $5's in the envelope and just keep that money separate.
I bring some extra cash for cab fares and misc. tips that might pop up.
When we come home we pay for airport parking with our debit card, but that's another expense to factor in.
We also have DDP and I am planning about $15 per person per day in extra snacks/drinks.

Enjoy your trip!!:)

Stroller rental is important to us so we bugdet for that. We get a length of stay on a double stroller. I think it is $16 or $18 a day.
