We just returned from 7 night western and I posted a trip report a few days ago. As I unpacked, did laundry, etc. it occurred to me that what actually got worn might also help someone with their planning. I am a chronic over-packer. I always get a case of the "what ifs". Since this trip was part of a longer trip, I tried hard but still overpacked by about 30%. So, here's what I WORE:
SUNDAY - boarding: white "dressier" jeans (no rips, no sequins, no writing or frays), a lightweight cotton knit top, gold sandals. Also wore this to dinner with a different top since first night is considered a bit more casual.
MONDAY - at sea: workout clothes (leggings, bra, top, socks, running shoes) at fitness center and until around noon. Then changed to swimsuit and coverup/flipflops for the rest of the afternoon. Formal night so I wore a long black skirt and matching top. Black/floral pashmina. Black dressy sandals with heels.
TUESDAY - met friend for lunch in Cozumel - white capris, nice top, gold casual sandals. Dinner - sundress#1, black shrug, same black sandals.
WEDNESDAY - duck boat excursion - dark blue shorts and polo shirt, same gold sandals. Dinner - sundress#2, matching pink shrug, same black sandals.
THURSDAY - Dunns River Falls and Mystic mountain - swimsuit/coverup/water shoes changed to dark blue shorts and cotton shirt, running shoes (not sandals due to riding sky lift). Dinner - sundress #3, black sandals.
FRIDAY - at sea: workout clothes (leggings, bra, top, socks, running shoes) at fitness center and until around noon. Then changed to swimsuit and coverup and stayed in that the rest of the afternoon. Dinner - semi-formal night so dressy dress and dark rose pashmina. Black sandals.
SATURDAY - Castaway Cay - did the 5K so started with workout clothes then changed to swimsuit/coverup and flip-flops. Dinner - White jeans from first day and dressy top (since suitcases have to be out, last night is more casual). Gold sandals.
SUNDAY - white jeans and another top, gold sandals.
So to summarize:
1 pair long pants, 1 pair capris, 1 pair shorts
7 tops of varying dressiness
5 dresses - 1 formal, 1 semi-formal, 3 sundresses
2 sets of workout wear + extra top
2 swimsuits/coverups
1 pair black dressy sandals (more dressy)
1 pair gold sandals (more casual)
1 pair water shoes
1 pair running shoes
1 pair flip-flops
Worth mentioning - I also attended a Castaway Club reception one afternoon and switched into blue shorts/shirt for that for about an hour - don't remember what day. Also, I don't do bingo or take any of the napkin folding classes or any of that. If you do, you will probably need another set of bottoms/couple of tops. We get dressed for 8:15 dinner before the show and keep on those clothes until after whatever ever entertainment there is after dinner. Note that all of my dresses were picked to go with black sandals and a black shrug or wrap. One dress had some rose in it and I had a rose pashmina so I threw it in, too. Could have used the black. I did not dress in pirate gear but if I'd thought to pack a red and white striped top it could have worked over the white jeans.
So, I hope this helps someone who is worrying about packing and thinking they can't look nice at dinner, etc.
