Me, DW, DS (3 ½), DMIL, Family friend.

All up at 01:00. Well me that is as I was the driver, the other did not sleep. After a shower and a cup of tea we set off at 02:20. The roads, as expected where empty. It was an uneventfully drive down to Dover. To all of are surprise DS was awake all the way down. We got their at 04:15 for a 05:40 sailing with P&O. DMIL was not looking forward to the trip across the channel as she hates water. Well after a couple of trips to the loo she was still not happy until I found the smoking area she was then happy for the rest of the trip. Our first stop was to fill up, with LPG and fuel. I then found out the LPG (GPL) in France uses a different nozzle, so no gas for the rest of the trip. After 89 Euro the tank was full. We made good time to DLRP and got to DCR by 12:00. We booked in after a small problem (that had us down for 3 nights and we has us down for 4, it all got sorted out though) went to the room to drop things off. We unload the car and trailer and filled up the fridge. DS loved the fact that he would have is own room to sleep in and spent ages climbing up and down to the top bunk, then off we went to the park. We then went to the the Magic Kingdom. We went through the castle and had a look at the dragon then on to the Dumbo ride. DS loved it and if I was honest it was OK I took DS on Its a small world, and the we all had some food at Pizzeria Bella Notte. We had pasta and garlic bread, and it was lovely. We caught the parade and then headed off to the Village. After a look round the shops (well they looked, I was dragged:rotfl2: .) and DS having a go on the bungee trampoline we heeded back to DCR. DW and I took DS to go and have a swim at DCR. Then we were all ready to go to bed so, we settled down at about 23:00.

Sounds like a good first day! :goodvibes

Day 2 The disaster day,

I woke up at about 08:00 to the smell of sausages being cooked. We had the soft bed in the lounge. We all sat down and had a nice fry up, with the works, which set us up for the day. By the time that was done and we had ironed our clothes it was about 11:00 and time to set off for the day. We had made lunch out of the French stick that we had got for breakfast (we got in total, 1 ½ French sticks , 5 croissants, 5 bread rolls, 1 litre of orange juice, some tea bags, and some Nesquick).

Today we where heading for the Studios. We got parked and on the way down the travelling floor DMIL said that she had forgotten her pain killers, so I was despatched back to the DCR to get them. My car stalled just as I was driving down the entrance way to the DCR and would not re start. After some investigation I found that a fuse under the bonnet had blown. I put in another one which did the same. After another two fuses, and a lot of cursing and swearing I started to look for the paperwork from the AA. I headed off to reception with it in hand to give them a call. After a little while on the phone, and worse questions the Who Wants To be a Millionaire they said that it would be 45 minutes before someone would be with me.

I headed back to the car, got out a blanket and went to sleep on the grass in the sun. About 50 minutes later, I woke up as a recovery truck turned up. He could speak very little English and my French is very limited, so after a lot of pointing he started to put the car on the back of the lorry, so i thought that I was in for a road trip. He them spent some time on the phone and then handed it to me, it was the AA. They said that they were going to take my car to a garage, and I did not have to go. So I waved good by to my only form of transport and went to reception to ask them how to walk to the park, and was told that I would have to get a taxi.

So 25 Euros later (yes, it really cost 25 Euros just to get to the park from DCR) When I reached the park. I then text my DW to find out where they were and got no reply so I started to have a look, after all the park is not that big, lol. After about 20 minutes I found the buggy outside of Stich. I sat down and opened up the cool box. I then rang the AA to find out what was happing. I was told that my car was going to a main dealer, and that they would sort out a hire car for me. About 2 hours later I had been to Hertzs and had picked up a car. We headed back at about 18:00 to DCR. My DW and I took our DS down to the swimming pool at the ranch. It has communal changing rooms and the lockers are free. We spent about 1 hour in the pool and DS loved it. It was another late night and we went to bed at 00:00.

Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooo about your car! Hope it got sorted!! I cry hysterically whenever I break down (Even if I'm perfectly safe and in a car park!!).....

What a shame about your car and what a waste of holiday time.

That taxi ride was so expensive!! :scared1: Someone was asking how much it would be the other day, I hope they read this.

Still, at least you are now sorted out with a car, hopefully you will have a beter day tomorrow.

Oh No , poor you. I hope the car is now better and it didn't spoil any more Disney Plans.

That would have spoilt the holiday for me...and 25 Euros to the park..whats that about????:scared1:

After a great tiring start of your holiday, the car  Hope it was all ok in the end...
