Sat. we had reserved the Yellow Submarine Cabana. We woke up, got ready and headed out the door to have the breakfast Buffet at Trattoria. As far as buffets go, it wasn't that great. The eggs were very runny, much to my egg loving sons dismay. I have said it before, Disney does do a much better breakfast buffet (I do like to give credit where it is due!). Anyway, breakfast done, off we go to the cabana. All I can say about the day was that it was wonderful! The older kids bounced back and forth between the park and pool, the younger kids had a blast on the slide and swimming. My two year old had fun swimming in the kiddie pool and splashing around in the big pool and playing in the sand. The adults had a relaxing day just lounging around sipping drinks and cooling off in the pool. I was very glad we had enough downtime to spend like this. I had a crib brought down for my daughter to take a nap. Very nice indeed!
We left the pool around 6:00 due to a storm heading our way. We never did go back, but it really was a fantastic day!
That evening it was going to be moms night out. We ordered room service for the kids, they all wanted chicken fingers and some soup. We left for city walk around 8:30. Walked around awile then head to Bob Marleys. Get on line go to get in and realize we should buy a City Walk Pass. Go buy one and head back to Marleys. Wrist band firmly in place we walk in, head upstairs and do some people watching. Had a beer. Nice time. We decide to go checkout Pat O'Brians. Get on line flash our City Walk Pass and our wrist braclet, but then it happens........... I am asked for ID. Opps.... I left my ID at the hotel, but I am old enough. With that the woman says, "Well I have to take this." and off comes the wrist bracelet. My friend says you mean we can't have a drink? Well you can, but it will be up to the server wether she can. I hang my head in shame. I've been de-banded, and apparently am not as old as I thought I was. My friend is livid at the thought that I can't have a drink with her. So we leave Pat O'Brians and head to Margarittaville. We go in, grab a table. The waitress comes over and asks what we'd like. A cheeseburger and a beer! Then she turns to me and ask me for ID. I left it at the hotel. I really am old enough though. My friend says "She's a year older than me." and produces her ID. The waitress is not eyeballing her with suspicion too. Finally she says, Well I guess I'll let you slide. I am finding this all very funny because I'm 43 years old! What's going on here? We get our burger and beer, watch the band and head back to PBH by 12:00. It was good to get a break from the kids.
Tomorrow is Sun. my friend and her son leave on Mon. morning very early. I also have a character breakfast schedualed at Confisco's. More to come!
