We got to PBH and our rooms (two connecting) were not ready. No problem, we head over to Universal so I can have my PAPs processed, and get the 5 day passes upgraded to PAPs. That done, the two 14 year olds head to the parks. We decide to walk around and check out PBH. I stayed there last year for two nights so didn't really have an opportunity to really look around. We stroll around for a while, but my friend can't deal with the heat (this has been a bit of a problem because I like to go, go, go!). So we go back into PBH and sit in the lobby. Our rooms are finally ready around 4:30. We had deluxe pool view with patios. Now here is the thing we couldn't see the pool, and the one room was definatly smaller than the other. Oh well, at least we were in connecting rooms and they are beautiful. I called to see about the crib and refrigerator because they weren't in the room. I also request more shampoo and conditioner. The woman in star service said I see there is a bunch of you, how about more towels? We'll take them thank you! Everything finally arrives. We head out and eat at NASCAR, and walk around City Walk. The kids want to go swim, so back we go.
While they are getting ready our Lowes welcome gift comes. A bottle of wine for each room. Wait what are those cookies and milk for? I ordered a bottle of wine for each room. I am told by the guy he needs to talk to his manager and find out what I ordered. Well, I know what I ordered. He then says I need to call Star services, he needs to talk to his manager. Ok well are you going to talk to your manager? He said something about he doesn't no what I ordered. OK, I'll call Star services (at this point I feel I am spending too much time on this matter). I call Star services, and they say oh you need to talk to the front desk, I'll connect you. I speak to the front desk and the say hold on and bounce me back to star services. I explain it one more time, and then say to myself I have now spent too much time trying to get a free bottle of wine. If it comes it is a bonus. It never came.
We head to the beach pool and the kids have a blast. I reserved a cabana at Hard Rock for the next day. Looking forward to that.

Sorry to hear you had to work for your loews gift. Sometimes it is such a hit or miss. You would think they would master the program with as much as they promote it.

Can't wait to read more!

Believe me, I spent about 10 minutes total trying to get the Lowes gift right. That was all I was willing to spend and be aggravated with it. It just seems there is no one except the mystery manager that can deal with the gift.
I love PBH, but you are right, this program should be down to a fine science. I had some issues with housekeeping this trip as well, nothing earth shattering, but just enough to be slightly annoying. Things like extra towels. I had to ask every single day. The huge pile wasn't a clue to them. One night there wasn't a single washcloth in either room. Normally it wouldn't matter too much, but this night was the night we were running a little late and had reservations for Delfino and I really needed that washcloth NOW, LOL. I also had to keep asking for extra shampoo and conditioner (both my daughter and I need a lot to get a comb through our hair). One of the days I even had to ask for soap because they didn't leave any and we were down to a sliver that was left from washing that morning. I left a $6.00 tip every morning, and on the Mon. that my friend and her son left, I left a $10.00 tip and a note asking for all the linen to be changed in both rooms, and an extra bed pad to be placed on the one bed in the other room. I am probably the only person that has stayed at PBH and felt the bed was still too hard LOL! So hench, the extra pad. I still had to hunt housekeeping down, and she said oh the beds are very comfortable. No, I am sorry to say not for me, now can I please have the extra pad? Last year I remember the beds being very comfy, did they change the padding, or is it just me? Probably me. While none of this would ruin my trip, it did get tiring. The good thing though is the housekeeping room was right next door, so it generally was easy to just pop my head out the door to find someone. The downside was there were housekeeping carts parked near my rooms a good portion of the time.

Can you tell me if these were unused passes, or passes from a prior visit? My two sons & I have APs, and I was considering upgrading my DH's 5-day pass to an AP when we were there last week. I just wasn't sure if 1) we had to do it before the pass expired; and 2) if he would ever use it (not a park nut like the boys and I!)

I upgraded before using the tickets. When I ordered the ticket I was only going to need them for 5 days (staying 4 nights), but then I added two more nights to Universal so it made sense to upgrade. I was going to only get the AP, but the guy said he could only upgrade them to PAPs.

Wonderful reviews ~ Thanx for sharing!!!!!!
