Trip Report Oct/Nov 2006 Halloween part 1
After sharing with you my Trip Report from September 2004 I thought it would be a shame not to write a Trip Report from our last trip in October/November 2006. Because this would be the only trip since September 2004 with no TR. And isn’t it great to read your own TR after a while? And suddenly all the feelings are coming back!
OK here we go:
Castmember:
Myself (27) 13th trip to DLRP!
Boyfriend (37) 10th trip. Says he loves to see my special smiles while at Disney!
We booked 3 nights and 4 days at Newport Bay Club! 30. October 2006 – 2.November 2006
Special about this trip: Halloween night included!
We started in Nuremberg/ Germany on Sunday 29.October 2006 and arrived at CDG at 9:30pm. This was too late for a TGV or the Disney shuttle bus. And so we decided to book a room at the Holiday Inn at the airport! I can recommend the hotel. We paid 90€, and with the free shuttle from Terminal 3 to the hotel everything was very easy.
Day 1 30.October 2006
We got up at 5:30am because we booked a TGV for 6:54. The TGV was on time and so we were at Marne-la-Vallee at 7:06. This was quite early but we wanted to be in the park right in time! And so we had a lovely walk from the train station to the Hotel Newport Bay Club. The sun just arose and we walked through an almost empty Disney Village.
I love the feeling when the Resort is almost empty or just wakening up. Everything is so quite and peaceful!
Empty NPBC Hall

The lobby of the hotel was also almost empty, and as we had a room in the Admirals Floor we went to the special Admirals Floor Reception. At this time of the day this was not a big advantage, but if you arrive later at the day this could save you more than 45 minutes waiting time! And the crowds were huge later the same day. Because everywhere in Europe were school holidays! But we choose this week because we wanted to attend the Halloween night.
As it was only 7:30 and we had one hour until the park would open we thought: “Were could we get breakfast now?”
And as this was my 13th trip and as I am also a shareholder for many years I am not afraid anymore to ask for upgrades or extras. And so we went back to the very nice CM and asked about breakfast at the hotel. She said that all breakfast cards for today are gone so she can’t do anything. And as we walked back trough the lobby she ran after us and said that she found 2 Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast cards which two quests returned. We thanked her very politely but when she left we saw that the cards were for 9:15am. And as the attractions would open at 9am we didn’t want to use this GMFLB as we wanted to make the most of the morning hours because we knew the park would be very crowded that day!
But suddenly my boyfriend had the idea to go to the NPBC restaurants and ask if we could have breakfast here instead of Fantasyland. And yes 2 minutes later we had a table at the Cape Cod and had finally our free breakfast. What a way to start your day!
And once more we learned that you just have to ask. People can’t say more than No to you!
After the breakfast we walked to the Disneyland Park and at 8:30am we entered the Magic Kingdom!
Castle and giant Pumpkin

We walked a bit through Mainstreet and when Frontierland opened we wanted to be among the first to ride BTM! But BTM had (as on every morning of our visit!) technical difficulties! And after wasting 15 minutes waiting we got FP tickets for later that day and went to Buzz followed by Peter Pan and Phantom Manor! After PM BTM was working and so we could ride our favorite attraction!
After the ride we wanted to enter Saloon Mickey but the crowds were so immense that we needed more than 10 minutes to reach the entrance of the Saloon and when we knocked on the door we learned from the CM that the Saloon Mickey is closed for the moment as to many shareholders wanted to access the Saloon.
After waiting 10 more minutes we finally get into the Saloon and had our free drink and some sweets and relaxed a bit from the crowds. We expected that the resort would be crowded but not like that! And the very good and warm weather was also a reason for the many, many quests in the Resort!
After queuing for a picture with Halloween Minnie and after using our FP for BTM the park was stuffed. And so we decided to walk back to our hotel and to ask for our room. But the weather was so beautiful and as we had a perfect blue sky we waited 10 minutes and got on Panoramagique. I made some very beautiful pictures and it is always something special to see the whole area from above!
At 2:30pm we entered the hotel lobby and now the hotel was also stuffed. And at this point we were very happy that we could use the Admirals Floor reception. After 12 minutes wait and some discussion with the CM we got our room 5183. A room on the Admirals Floor with lake view and a real balcony!
View from our room

After a short break we were ready to get to the park again and to search a good place for the Halloween parade! The parade has not changed since 2005 and it is still a perfect parade for me!
After we watched the parade in Fantasyland we followed the crowds and went to Pirates. But that was a big mistake. The waiting time was 60 minutes. And we thought “Maybe they move faster!” But we should have known better. After 65 minutes we were seated in our boat! I never experience such a long waiting time for POTC. We had to walk along the whole line outside the attraction. I never realized that the waiting line outside is so long and so complex.
At 6pm we had a reservation for Walt’s and after the long waiting time for POTC it was already dark outside and the park looked totally different! We had a table at Discoveryland and we loved the view to Mainstreet. I just love Mainstreet.
From our table we could see in many windows, and in almost every window was something going on; candles flickering or something similar. We had as usual a great dinner at Walt’s and I had as dessert the Cinderella slipper!

After our meal I got a little headache and so we decided after another visit to PM to leave the park. It was only 7:30 and the park would be open until 10pm. But after such a long day with so many people we were very exhausted!
And so we went to bed and were exited what the 31.October (Halloween) would bring!
