I'm giving this trip report a try. Please bear with me. Hope ya'll enjoy. :thumbsup2

Went on a wonderful cruise on the Magic July 15-22 with DH, DS (8) and DD (3).

Saturday July 15th - Left our house for Port Canaveral around 7ish. Had an uneventful drive over and arrived in the Port Canaveral area around 9. By this time the kids were starving so we headed over to McDonald's on Cocoa Beach. What a mistake that was. I never in my life saw a McDonalds so crowed!! Oh well, finished eating and then headed over to the port. We arrived at 9:50am and were told we had to wait in the parking lot across the street until 10:00am. 10:00am arrived and sure enough someone came around to let us know it was time to go. YEAH!!!! We unloaded our luggage (all eight bags!!!) and a nice porter came and took them away. DH went and parked the car and then it was off to go through security and check in. Check in was a breeze. We were about the 5th family inside and got boarding #2!!!

We found a seat to park ourselves until it was time to board. I noticed that I could check the kids into the Clubs so I did that in the terminal and got our pager. I think it's great that you can do that in the terminal before even boarding.

After that, I noticed someone that looked familiar. It was THEGALES from our Dis board. I went over and introduced myself. I had my family move over to where they were and hung out with them and some other DIS'ers. (sorry I can't remember everyone's screen names that we met.) Mickey Mouse and then Pluto came out into the terminal for a photo op. DD went and had her pic taken with them. DS was not interested. Next thing I knew it was time to board the ship. When we where leaving to board BTSEN5 made it over to all of us. It was nice to finally meet her family too!

We boarded the ship around 11:30ish. Had our boading photo taken and our family was announced as we boarded. We headed right to Beat Street to see if we can change our dining time from 8:30 to early. It paid off getting there early because they changed it and we got 5:30pm seating!!! It was off to Parrot Cay for the lunch buffett. Was not too impressed with the buffett. I remember last year on the Wonder being so much more. Oh well, no worries.

The kids were begging us to swim. So off to the Mickey pool to wait for our room to be ready. The Mickey pool was crowed but expected. DS had fun going down the slide, while DD had fun playing in the pool. We let them swim for about an hour or so and then it was off to find our room. Did I mention that we ran into THEGALES again. It nice to see a friendly face. The offered me a beer and a graciously accepted!! Thank you it hit the spot!! We also ran into BTSEN5. Chatted with her for a few minutes and apologized for running once they arrived at the port. (Thanks to TheGales for the sunscreen too, I forgot to pack that in our carry on.)

We had stateroom 7092. Very nice room with a verandah and split bath. It was nice to drop off the things we carried onboard. I decorated our door with all the signs I made and the kids were very surprised by this.

Next thing I knew it was time to go to our Dis meet on Deck ten. We really enjoyed meeting everyone. We couldn't stay long because DD fell asleep in my arms. We headed back to our room. Our luggage was there for us already!! That was a nice surprise. Did some unpacking before the life boat drill. Did the life boat drill, came back, showered and got ready for the sail away and dinner.

The sailaway party was fun like always. The kids danced a little and then it was time for dinner. We ate in Animators Palate the first night. I honestly can't remember what we ate. Are servers were Noel from India and Theodore for Bulgaria. Absoulute dolls!!!

Our servers (this picture wasn't taken on this night it was taken on the last)
DisneyCruise2006-265-1.jpg

After dinner we went back to our cabin and changed our clothes. We brought DD to the Oceaneers Club to check things out. To our surprise Daisy Duck was there dancing with the kids. DS was suppose to go check out the Oceaneer Lab, but his sister asked if he would stay with her. Since it was family time he was allowed and we all stayed for a little while.

Next thing we knew it was close to 8:30 so we went to see the welcome aboard show. It was called All Aboard! Let the Magic Begin. It was ok. The juggler was good. After the show we were all totally wiped out. It had been a long day. Off to our cabin we went for some shut eye.

More later.......

Sunday July 16th - Key West

We were up bright an early. 7:00am to be exact. We had to be at the character breakfast for 8:00am! It was at Parrot Cay. DD enjoyed it very much. DS still was not interested in the characters. He was kind enough to smile nicely for me for pictures. My DH was not interested either and the two of them were getting antsy. I suggested to them to go see the 9:00am showing of POTC II. Off they went.....DD and I stayed and enjoyed our brief time with the characters. Just seeing her smile and reaction with the characters made it all worth while. Once we were done with the breakfast DD and I headed back to the room to wait for the boys.

When we made it back to the room DD and I ran into DS who was suppose to be at the movie. He said he wasn't feeling very well. OH NO!!!! I should have given him his dramamine before breakfast and I totally forgot. Did I mention he is the one in our group that tends to get a little seasick.
Gave DS some dramamine and it was off to the theater to find DH to let him know that I have DS with me. DH decided to leave the movie and we all went back to the cabin to get ready to get off the ship in Key West. DS decided he didn't want to get off the boat in Key West. He would rather stay on the ship and go to the Oceaneers Lab. I explained to him that we may be gone for 5 or 6 hours. He was ok with that. His thinking was since we live in Florida why do I have to get off the ship to see Florida. I was fine with this even though I wanted to do things as a family. We brought DS up to Topsiders because it was time for kids in the Lab to have lunch. Signed him in and me, DH and DD went off to Key West. My husband and I have been to Key West several times including our honeymoon so we were looking forward to it.

Our first stop in Key West was Sloppy Joe's. Can you say YUMMY!!!! My DH had the BBQ Pork sandwich, I had shaved steak rolled up in a tortia (sp) with mushrooms and onions and DD had a pizza. To drink I had a pina colada, DH had a rum runner and DD had a coke. After lunch we were so stuffed we didn't feel like moving, but we had some shopping to do. Off to Margaritaville we went. Of course we spent way to much money in the shop, but we are proud Parrotheads!! We walked around a bit checked out a few stores and then the rain came. It poured!! We made into a liquor store to buy some wine and and cork screw to bring back on the ship. I figured I can have a glass of wine while getting ready for dinner each night. Since it was raining we decided to make a mad dash back to the ship. Do you know once we made it back to the ship and changed out of our wet clothes the sun came back out. Oh well. DH went and picked DS up from the Lab and they met us at the Mickey Pool.

The kids swam for a bit and next thing we knew it was time once again to get ready for dinner.

This night we ate at Parrot Cay. Not my favorite place on the ship. And once again I have no idea what we ate. I do remember one thing though DD had Macaroni and Cheese everynight.

Once dinner was done, we made our way to Preludes and had a family picture taken with Captain Jack Sparrow. I do have to say Captain Jack was great!! He wasn't Johnny Depp, but he did a great job portraying him. After this photo op we headed over to Studio Sea for Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer. When you enter Studio Sea they give you a number. If your number is called you can be a contestant. I can't believe it, but my number was called!! I was able to bring DS up with me. The show is played just like Who Wants to be a Millionaire but a shorter version and you don't win money. There was a table full of fellow DIS'ners. TheGales and BETSEN5 families. DS and I won! Not without the help of the audience though. We won a really neat crystal with the shows logo and we received special pins.

After the fun at Studio Sea we took the kids swimming at the Mickey Pool. We let them swim around for about 45 minutes or so and it was off to bed.

pixiedust: Another Magical day.

Great report!! I love these reports. It is nice to see what others got to do and gives me ideas and thoughts for the next time. How was the show? I only got to see Twice Charmed and the Remember the Magic.

Look forward to reading more.

I should have more to post tomorrow.

Day 3 - Magical Day at Sea

DS and I were up bright and early. DH and DD slept in. DS and I went up to Topsiders for breakfast. We actually filled our plates and brought it back to the room to eat on the Verandah. It was very nice doing this. By the time we were done DH & DD woke up and they headed to Topsiders for breakfast themselves. I do have to agree with other cruisers on our cruise. The scrambled eggs were awful. Very runny. Yuck!! Your best bet is to go to the omlette station. My DH ended up doing this everyday and was very happy with his eggs.

DH and I had some shopping we wanted to do on board. We brought the kids to the clubs and they stayed for about an hour or so. It was close to 11:00am and they were having characters in the lobby atrium. DD can't get enough of the characters. I can't remember which ones we saw that day but DS actually joined in the pictures this time around. After that is was off to the Mickey Pool.
We hung around the Mickey Pool for about an hour or so and the kids started getting hungry. DD and I grab some pizza from Pinocchio's pizza and DH and DS grab a burger and fries from Pluto's Dog House. We went back up to our cabin with the food. The food was just ok. After we finished lunch I noticed in the Personal Navigator that The Golden Mickey's was showing in the Walt Disney Theatre at 2:15pm.

The Golden Mickey's show was wonderful! I've seen it before on the Wonder and loved it there too. Before the show started a cast member came over to us and wanted to know if DS & DD wanted to be dwarfs in the show! DS said yes right away, but DD was a little hesitant. After a little convincing from her older brother she agreed. The kids loved going on stage and being part of the show. DD was holding Snow White's hand and she got a real kick out of that! After their part in the show they came back and joined us in our seats. Both of them were beaming ear to ear with excitement. After the show we did a little exploring around the ship. Then we headed back to our room for showers and to get ready for dinner. It was formal night.

They were having professional portraits in the atrium starting at 5:00pm. One of my goals on this cruise was to get a family portrait done. We always say were going to do it at home but you know how that goes. We were all dressed up in our formal attire. The kids looked so adorable. Alright it was picture time. I was all excited and the kids promised me no cheesy smiles. DD would not smile at all!! Her new nickname became Patty Pout because that is exactly what she did in our pictures. No worries we have another night to try. I bought a few of the photos anyway for a memory. Off to dinner in Lumiere's. This was one of our favorite places to eat. Again I can't remember what we had that night. I'm sorry, the food did not leave a big impression on me. I do know DD had macaroni and cheese.

As we were walking around the ship after dinner it happened to be to be the Captain's Welcome Reception in the Lobby Atrium. DH and I enjoyed a cocktail and DH, DS and I had a photo with the captain. DD did not want to have anything to do with that. After that we went back to our cabin and changed. I noticed that Cinderella was going to be at Preludes for photos. I told DD and she got so excited because she had a Cinderalla costume that she wanted to wear. She quickly changed and up to Preludes we went. The picture came out wonderful. She smiled great for this photo. Go figure. While DD and I did this DH brought DS up to the Sports Deck to check him into the Lab. They were going to play dodgeball and then hoops. We tried to get DD to go to the Club but she didn't want to have anything to do with.

Once we picked DS up from the Lab I took the kids for a swim. I tended to do this every night around 9:00pm. The kids loved it and the Mickey Pool was empty each evening at this time. My plan was to wear them out so they would go right to sleep. We had an early day tomorrow so we hit the hay around 10:00pm.

Another great day!!

This would be me drinking a drink a free drink that I picked up on the way to dinner. I believe it was for the Captains reception.

Day 4 - Grand Cayman

We had to be up bright and early for our excursion. We were up by 6:30am, showered, got dressed and went to Topsiders for breakfast. Nothing too exciting there. We had to meet for our excusion at 8:00am in Diversions. We did the Island Tour and Butterfly Farm. We took a tendered and then our group was shown to several buses. We hopped on the bus and we were on our way. The first stop was "HELL". Nothing to write home about. Definately a tourist trap. Stayed maybe 15 minutes or so. Just enough to get some pictures of the kids. We all loaded back on the bus and it was off to the Turtle Farm. When we arrived our bus driver told us to go inside. There was alot of confusion because some people in our group started to pay to get it. HELLO, we already paid as part of the excusion. I finally spoke up and said something. Our bus driver was suppose to give the cashier some paid receipts showing that we were part of an excusion. Apparently he was new and was not given very good training. After all of that we were finally let in to the Turtle Farm. The kids got kick out of picking up the turtles. We all got soak and wet when we would put them back in the water because they really start flapping. It was too fun. Alright, it was time to leave. We then headed off to the Butterfly Farm. By this point we had enough and we were a bit disappointed in the Butterfly Farm. I never did get to walk through it because DD started to get cranky and I took her out by the buses. After that we headed off to the Rum Factory. DH and I tried several shots of Rum. My favorite was the Mango rum. We also sampled some Rum cake. Delicious. We all got back on the bus and back to the port we went.

Once back at the port we headed over to Senor Frogs for lunch and drinks. DH and I had just been in Grand Cayman in May and met a wonderful waiter there. We told him we would be back in July with the kids and he told us to stop by and say hello. Well, we got there, asked to sit at one of his tables and do you know he was on vacation himself! I was disappointed because we had such wonderful service from him. Oh well. We finished our lunch and headed back to the ship.

On the tendered ride back we noticed that we had time to make it to the 3:00pm showing of "TWICE CHARMED". We went to our cabin first a cleaned up a little bit and then headed down to the Walt Disney Theatre. We enjoyed the show very much. Once done with the show it was time to get ready for dinner once again.

This night we had dinner back in Animators Palate. We enjoyed our meal and made a quick exit from the dining room that night. The kids were exhuasted and had no desire to be perfect little angels for dinner. As we walked around the ship Belle was in the Atrium so DD just had to have her picture taken. After that we saw that Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit were in front of the Walt Disney Theatre. So off we went for another photo. This time DS wanted to be in the picture with his sister. This was a nice surprise.

After all photos taken the kids were getting cranky and starting to get on each other's nerves. Back to the cabin we went for a change into our swimsuits for our late evening swim.

The kids swam until 10:00pm and then it was off to bed. We didn't need to get up too early tomorrow for Cozumel since our excusion wasn't until 9:30am.

I figured I would add a few pics from our journey.

This first pic is the kids in the Golden Mickey's as the dwarfs. DS did not have his beard on because it snapped off back stage. DD was so happy to be holding Snow White's hand.

I would love to be going on a mediterranean cruise. I'm so jealous. We loved 7092. It was close to the Aft elevators so it was quick to Topsiders, Mickey Pool and the drink station. That was a plus in my book!

Here's a picture of our door. I will see if I have any pictures of the actual inside.

Thanks! I will post more as I finish my report. It may take me a little longer then I wanted, but hey I have to get those kids ready for school on Thursday. :cool1:

Day 5 - Cozumel

Had a hard time waking up this a.m. Not even the kids were excited to wake up. Finally I dragged everyone out of bed around 8:00am. We got everthing ready for our excusion and headed up to Topsiders for a quick breakfast. After breakfast we headed down to the Rockin' D Bar to meet up for our excusion. We were taking the Cozumel Beach Break to Playa Mia.

Took the tendered over and then loaded a bus for a 20 minute ride to Playa Mia. I've been to Cozumel several times and this was the first time we ventured to the beach. DH and I were there on a cruise right before the hurricane hit last year. It was so sad to see the devastation. I am impressed as to how fast they are working to getting everything back to somewhat normal.

We arrived at the beach and they showed us were we could sit. They had an area designated for our excusions. The kids dropped there stuff down and headed straight for the water. DS spent most of the day on the water trampoline. I gave it a try and wow is it hard to get on! They also had an iceburg that you could climb and kayaks you could use. Once I peeled them away from the water we had a mexican style buffet for lunch. Nothing to write home about. DH and I had a few beers since an open bar was included in the price of the excusion. After lunch we headed back to the water. DD played awhile with another little girl she made friends with on the ride over. We decided that we didn't want to take the bus back because we had just about enough of the beach. We ended up leaving around 1:30pm and took a taxi ride back to the pier. The cost of the taxi was $15 and it was well worth it for us. Oh I forgot to mention, BTSEN5 from our board and her DS almost ran me over with their kayak as I was coming back from the water trampoline. LOL LOL (sorry I had to put that in there BTSEN5) :rotfl2:

Once back at the pier we saw Carlos and Charlies. DH and I usually hang out there when we come without the kids. We noticed that their were alot of families in side so we asked the kids if we could make a quick stop for a drink. They saw all the excitement inside and they were more then willing to go in. I had a 1/2 yard margarita and DH had a 1/2 yard beer. DD and DS had 1/2 yard of coke and they thought it was the greatest thing. We finished our drinks and headed back to the ship.

By the time we made it back to the ship we needed to shower and get ready for dinner. This also was pirate night. Before dinner we also had to make a stop at the Castaway Club member party. Alot to do in such a short period of time.

More on our evening later....YO HO YO HO A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME pirate:

Yes, friends should never let friends row drunk. :rotfl2:

Day 5 Continued....

Can you say tired? That is just what we were tired. But we knew we had a long night ahead of us. Pirate Night has finally arrived. I had some surprises for the kids. I made them each a goody bag filled with more pirate things. Pirate tatoos, necklaces, eyepatches, earrings, glow sticks, pirate guns and a pirate telescope. The kids loved them. We got all dressed up in our pirate attire and headed down to the Castaway Club reception. This was at 5:00pm and our dinner was at 5:30pm. We chatted with some senior officers and also the captain. I have no idea what they were serving, but the green drinks were yummy. We ran into the Gales and finally got to meet Skminnie's mom. It was very nice but we had to run. Off to dinner in Parrot Cay. When we were seated our pirate bandanas were already there. Our lovely wait staff came over and handed us our menus. The menus tonight are a scroll. Kinda looks like a pirate map. Very neat. Once again have no idea what we had. Finished dinner and headed back to our room.

Since everyone was so exhuasted from our busy day in Cozumel no one wanted to leave the room. We still had 2 hours till the Pirate Party on Deck 9. So basically we just hung out in our room and relaxed. 9:15pm came and I suggested we headed up to Deck 9. Off we went. It was already pretty crowed up there. We made our way over to the area that the Goofy pool is suppose to be and it was changed into a dance floor. The kids started dancing immediatley. DH and I parked ourselves on the edge of the dance floor and let the kids enjoy themselves. At 9:45pm the Pirate Party began. It was alot of fun, but not like I remembered on the Wonder last year. By 10:00 the kids were really tired but I wasn't going to leave until I saw those fireworks. Where were they??? Because I was carrying DD at this point it seemed to take forever and the dancing was getting a little old at this point. Finally, Fireworks. What a nice way to end the evening. We ran passed the buffet and DH picked up a turkey leg and off to bed we went.
