Trip report - July 23-27 (with lots of pictures!)

Thanks for sharing your report with us. Your pictures are beautiful. We can't wait to get back to DLR!

Your pictures are wonderful! They support a point that I have been recently making about point & shoot cameras taking amazing photos in the recent past. The P&S cameras of today are a lot better than the ones of long ago. In fact, as great as DSLR cameras/photos are, I have seen so many photos on this board from great P&S cameras (and that is even without post-processing/editing), and I've taken a few that I was surprised came from my little camera!

I think there is definitely something to be said for at least learning a few of the settings on the P&S cameras - even if the manuals are sometimes confusing, the end results are worth the hassle!

I moved your thread over to the Disneyland Trip Report section.

What an awesome trip report!! and you take seriously great photos!! I am soooo glad you have an awesome partner who loves Disneyland and all the little details that make it the special place it is :) I kept looking in your photos to see us in the background!!! lol.... we were watching that same pixar parade from nearly the same location, across the street from you! and we were in Cars land the morning it was closed till noon, but because we were staying at the Disneyland Hotel at that time, we were in at 7 am and I got into line to get our fast passes at about 5 minutes to 8. That alone is worth staying at the DLH! getting into RS an hour before the park opens! I have pictures and the streets are nearly empty.
Forgive me for not remembering, did you say you live over on the Island? hubby kept saying your DB looked so familiar!

That's so crazy! I wonder if you were there! The 5 pm show on the same day? We're out in the Port Moody but originally from the Sunshine Coast. :)

Thank you! LOL I didn't even know this section existed!

And yes! It's soo worth it to find out more about your camera! Even just knowing what each of the scene modes does and how to work them is great! I read lots of tips and tutorials online too, every little bit helps!

congrats looks like you all had fun, by chance what did it cost to get the pics from cam to dvd while there?

Omg....lol that's where we live! Small world!! Do you like it there better than here? Is your DBF a mechanic by any chance?

Awesome TR! Loved the details and great photos. Felt like I was enjoying it with you! :thumbsup2

What great pictures. Thanks for sharing. That French toast looks amazing!

It was about $15 or so! Took a little while though to get them all transferred to their computer and onto the DVD, I was in there for about 20 minutes.

Hahah so crazy! It's got different appeals - Sunshine Coast is mostly smaller towns, so it's much sleepier! :) He is a welder actually! Why, did your hubby think he saw him at a garage or something?

Yes! at a shop in Gibsons. Hubby worked in the logging industry for over 35 years until january of last year (2011) when our son who was working with him was killed by a runaway log. Hubby has not been back to work since. But when he was working, he had a lot of contact with mechanics and welders! He worked in the Pender Harbor area.

So weird! There is a good chance! My boyfriend also worked in a logging mill on the coast when he was younger, would have been still in high school of just out of it. But he's been in welding for several years now! It's a small world (afterall... :p) so the chances of them having crossed paths is pretty good!

So sorry about your son by the way. :(
