Day One-April 16th 2007
Technically this day started at 4:30 when the alarms went off signaling that it was time to wake up and finish getting dressed so we could be out the door by 5:30. Unfortunatly, Alex was having a terribly hard time going to bed and was echoing the Disney Commerical where the kids and parents keep saying "I can't, I'm too excited" It was finally 12:30 Am when I got him to sleep. He slept til 5 when his alarm went off. For Jason and I we had a few things to finish up before going to bed, that needed to be done after Alex went to sleep. So once they where done we went to bed at 2 and woke back up at 4:30.. We where on the road with my parents ( they drove us to the Pittsburgh Airport) by 5:30 am. Travel went easy as the weather was no where near like the predicted bad weather and we actually had time to stop for convienience store breakfast before heading into the Airport.

Airport: We arrived, Checked In and did security all with no issue. Yay.. it went very fast.. Then it was off to the gate where we waited for 1.5 hours. It wasn't too bad. We had a nice view of the planes and Alex enjoyed watching them come in and load and unload. Finally it came boarding time. We had set up to preboard due to Alex's disabilitie and it was a Godsend.. He would have panicked if he had to load with all those people pushing on him. So we loaded, took off and flew to Orlando with no real events. Other than the stewardnes accidently dropping someones drink on Jason.. Ooops...We landed at 12:20 even though our arrival was scheduled for 12:49. The early arrival was nice. We headed to the main terminal and down to Magic al Express. We left the airport almost immediatly and where on our way.
Pop Century: I can't even begin to describe how amazing that first look was. Pictures just don't do it justice. We where lucky and where put in the 50's section second floor in a VERY short walk. Now, I must take a slight detour in here. I had ordered a package from memoriesbysarah and it was waiting for us when we checked in. Yay.. it was great and Alex was thrilled.. BUT! I was also expecting a package in the form of a little green croc named Fritzie who was nowhere to be found. AHHHH.. finally after 3 trips back to the back room the girl checking us in found him. Wheew.. I was worried. So, Now on to hotel things again. Our room was ready so we headed up dropped off what we needed to and rearranged some things and then off to the Magic Kingdom we went. While we where in our room a priority was making sure Pal Mickey was ready to go and thay Alex's trading pins where ready. He had already traded with two CM's while we where checking in at Pop and was so excited about his deals. One for a Dale Cutie @@ and one for a Donald in Front of the Castle pin. Very nice.
We left our rooms about 10 til 3:00 and headed over to the bus area. We caught a bus to MK within 5 minutes and began the ride. It was a nice ride. Very empty, us and maybe 5 other people. Once arriving we stopped and did our tickets and then I walked right up to the first Photopass person I saw and asked for a picture.. lol ( see, we have gone on vacations before, but you wouldnt know I was there since there are no pictures of me. ) My goal for this trip is to fill up that Photo pass with proof that I was along for the vacation too. So following that we headed into the Park. And what do we see and here " Welcome, Walt Disney World would like to welcome you......" followed by the parade coming down main street .. OMG! I was in heaven. .. I was crying and snapping pictures and crying some more. We couldnt have timed it better if we tried.
So after the parade we are off to explore the Magic Kingdom. Fist to City Hall to get a GAC for Alex and then off to the rides. The first ride is the one I most wanted to get out of the way, Stitch. OMG! that ride was horrid. I am still gagging about the creepo smells and feelings it gave us and Alex who LOVES stitch and SoOOO wanted to ride that.. Was hysterical. Following Stitch it was Buzz, We headed around the park and ended the day with a ride on Jungle Cruise followed by Spectro Magic. Seeing as how we where running on empty and exhausted we chose to exit then and head back to Pop Century with a quick stop at the CLassic Hall for Refillable Mugs, Dinnner and Lanyards for our pins to go on. Once that mission was done we sat down to eat and no sooner do we sit down than Jason starts to feel bad. The lack of sleep and food just hit him like a rock. So he packs up his food,. Alex and I finish ours and its back to the room we go. I am repacking the bags for tomorrow. Jason is sleeping, I told Alex to go to sleep and amazingly. HE DID... so once I upload pictures. I will go to sleep to. The wake up call is set for 7 am and we see stitch at Ohana Breakfast at 10:3o following some early morning MK... after wards we will head to MGM..

Day Two- April 17th 2007
Despite having a late evening the night before we where up when the wake up call came at 7 am ( I had been up since 6 already doing a few things to get ready for the day) The wake up call was Stich calling and yelling "WAKE UP" it was very cute and Alex loved it. We used this as an oppurtunity to let him know where we where going for breakfast that day. He was very excited to hear we had a reservation for Ohana Breakfast where we would get to meet Lilo and Stitch. We finished getting ready and decided since the easiest park to get to Polynesian from was Magic Kingdom we would head there in the morning prior to breakfast.
Magic Kingdom: We arrived around 8:20 and decided to watch the opening from the less crowded area right before the ticket gates so that Alex could best enjoy the view. It was great. We loved being welcomed to the park and seeing all the characters. It was a nice time. Once that was over we headed into the park and where greeted by some characters in the Main Street Area doing meet and greets. We visited and got pictures and autographs with Gideon and Gepetto, Sadly only the Gideon picture made it. Something wierd occured on the camera and the Geppeto picture was lost :( Nice little side note though. Gideon tried to convince his handler that since it was Alex's first visit to the park that him and Alex should go on rides together and see the park. Sadly she didnt think it was a good idea since there where other kids waiting and we had a 10:30 reservation and it was getting near to leaving time. All the same Alex was pretty please with the offer. And didnt regret having to say no Thank You.
Ohana Best Friends Breakfast: We arrived about 20 minutes prior to our ADR and took in the view of the beautiful location. Then proceeded to the check in desk. Checked in right away. Had pictures taken, and as soon as they where done there was a nice young lady waiting to take us to our seats. Maybe 5 minutes from check -in to seat. The food was wonderful, the juice was by far our favorite drink we had this whole week. Unfortunatly Jason had another mishap with drinks at this restaurant and ended up with a carafe of juice all over his legs.. It seemed his luck this week was leaning towards the wet side. After a wonderful meal and meet and greet with Lilo and Stitch we decided to head back to Pop Century and drop off our picture and relax a bit since we still hadn't quite caught up from the day before. We spent about an hour there in which the first sign on me getting sick reared its head. YEP.. sick.. I was sweating and had a fever. BUT... this was the trip of a lifetime so we pressed on. We stayed there until 2 and then headed over to MGM
Disney's MGM Studios: Let me start off by saying I LOVE the ability to use Disney Transport. It makes life sooo much easier than having to drive around and negotiate parking lots etc. We arrived at the park around 2:20 and headed to guest services as we needed another Guest Assitance Card since the girl the day before gave us one only for that day. After getting that taken care of Alex asked the young man if he had pins to trade on a lanyard. Nope, but I do have the pin book. You can trade with it. No doubt about that. Alex was very excited and traded 5 pins with the book. Next it was back out the door and off to find a spot for "Stars and Motor Cars" we found a nice spot with no one in front of us and waited. The parade was great. Alex hated the wait and actually asked to go back to the hotel at one point but we didn't want to give in as we knew this was something he REALLY wanted to see. Once the parade started all was forgotten. I got tons of great pictures of the parade including Vader standing right in front of us hand pointed out at Alex. Following the parade we headed to the Indiana Jones area and waited for the show to start. Alex was a little fearful at first, so I put in the earplugs. Once it started though he was mouth open wide in shock and awe of the whole thing. It was as wonderful as I remember and Alex was thrilled. After that was hit Muppets, The Studios Back Lot tour and a few other things we wanted to do that day. We held off on Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, Great Movie RIde and some of the shows like Little Mermaid figuring we would catch them Friday. We had to leave the park at that point as we had an 8:40 reservation at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Whispering Canyon Cafe: We loved this meal, the food was great and the staff is hysterical. Alex told the girl when we came in he was going to need ketchup sometime and a BIG straw. She made sure when she brought our water that she brought a HUGE glass for all of us with three SUPER long straws. He loved it. Next onto the Ketchup, we ended up with 23 bottles. Alex loved it and I have a great shot of him yelling for the Ketchup.. He was also very excited when the time came to take it to the next table. All in all meal was great if not a bit too much food, we ended up not finishing it all and having to leave behind more food than I think we ever have. We took our desserts with us but due to circumstances beyond our control ( namely being tooo full) we never got to eat them. After our meal was over things got a bit hairy though, We had planned on taking a bus back fromEpcot seeing as there are no resort to resort busses, but it closed about a half our after we where done and the bus driver refused to take any of the families wanting to do the same as us back there instead said we would need to wait for a bus to downtown disney. So wait we did, when it finally came it was a FOREVER bus ride and then it was made longer because of an Accident that caused a detour. All told the time between leaving dinner and returning to our hotel was 1 hour and30 minutes . It was insane I tell you. Once back to the hotel we checked for new Towel Animals ( we had two swans kissing) and checked out the arrangement of the stuffed creatures... ( They where having a party) It was a fun day, Alex went right to sleep and I finished up getting ready for the next day and putting pictures on the computer so the memory card.

Oh, yucky! Nothing worse than getting sick while at WDW!

Sounds like, except for your last bus ride, everything has been wonderful so far... and I'm so glad! Alex really got into the swing of things at WCC, huh? So nice that he could really enjoy all the shenannigans!

Hope you felt better soon.

Kathy

Oh yes, Not sure how it is with your son, but for Alex he becomes less scared of social interaction when he is close to tired. By the time we got to WCC he was exhausted and willing to try things. The other nights we did meals he was awake and energized and ther was no way he was going to participate. He wouldnt even run around the room with Stitch.

Day Three- 4/18/07
Epcot: We where up and atem today by 7am and headed off to Epcot by 8. We arrived at 8:20 and waited for the gates to open. We decided to opt out of the opening ceremony and head to Spaceship Earth instead. The opening ceremony looked way to crowded for Alex, the line on the other hand only had one other person in it so we figured it was a better option. It was, Alex loved it. After that was over we headed over to Innoventions and Let Alex enjoy himself. Which he did. He did the stations and made a robot, raced and came third. We did both East and West and he sent a postcard picture to his teacher as well. We decided after we finished up there to head to Test Track and Mission Space. These rides where both a HUGE hit and Alex actually wanted to ride test track again but the line was long and I felt that if we rode it a second time we should wait in line rather than using his GAC accomadations. After those rides we headed over to ride The Seas with Finding Nemo and friends. UNFORTUNATLY, After waiting in line for 30 minutes Alex decided he had to use the restroom. Mind you I asked him if he needed to prior to going in and got an Emphatic no. Since I wasn't getting back in line and waiting again we decided to go and see the fish in the tanks and wait for the surprise that Alex was told he was getting. After about 30 minutes watching Dolphins and Turtles the phone rang and I went out to arrange the surprise ( My Parents) after getting that all ready I went back into the Sea pavillion and met Jason and Alex. His phone rang and grandma asked him how he was doing and what he was seeing today. Then said. From right behind you, so do you see anything good around you? He heard her on the phone and in his ear and was floored. It was great. After that we showed them all around the Seas and then headed over to the land for lunch. We ate at Sunshine Seasons. YUM! Great food. Then we did the rides in there. I have to say "Soarin" rocked. Everyone loved it, I made sure to ask the CM seating if we could ride in B1. No problem he said. It was GREAT!~ We talked about that one for a while. Now it was time for us to head on. Our next goal was World Showcase, with a quick stop at Journey Into Imagination with Figment. This ended with a Stuffed Figment and a Passport so Alex could take it back to his class with him. We did all the countries but skipped China because Jason wanted to visit it in Length and we didnt have time this day so we decided to come back at the end of the week ( sadly we never made it back :( ) But we did get to ride the rides in Mexico and Norway which was something my mom and I really wanted to do as it was our favorite park of Epcot when we went in 1992. Following this we split for a bit from my parents as we where running late for an ADR and then had to make a pit stop. So we met them @ the Garden Grill for dinner after they where done. The meal was really nice, I Love the potatos and Alex really enjoyed the character interaction. The funniest part was I had forgot it was rotating restaurant with a view "Living in The Land" Ride.. so we where eating and enjoying the view when my mom said Oh. I love the way they make the rain sound in the rainforest scene and we went on eating. For a good 30 minutes we keep eating when I suddenly have a duh moment and say " What the heck, there was a starcase there a few minutes ago, Oh Good gracious. I totally forgot the restaurant moved" We had quite a laugh and thought it was neat as heck. My parents loved it as did we and my step dad ( who is a CAD designer was enthralled with it all ) Following dinner we called it an early night and headed back to the hotel. We needed the early night, we where exhausted and the next day was Animal Kingdom Day.
