Sat. We arrived in rainy Orlando about noon time. Headed over to the HRH checked in with the idea of going to Universal but rain stopped that and no swimming either. Left went to get lunch and some soda/beer/goodies. Could not get into our room until 4:00PM. Asked for a complimentary upgrade with Lowes card(didn't want to pay 35.00) was told it was a full hotel. Oh well. Hung out in lobby.very interesting and full of life and rock music. Finally got room key... room was 4144. One bank of elevators service the whole hotel but never waited. The room was very nice with a view of the pool. (Somewhat blocked by trees however).
Sun. Headed out to Universal studios. Walking path was 6 minutes from hotel to front entrance. Stopped at Pasatmore for a pastry and coffee. FOTL was great not sure how one would do without it. Passes T2 and did ET/Aminal SHow/Woody Woodpecker Roller Coaster. Headed for BTF/MIB only to find out my son who has a siezure disorder couldn't ride so we skipped over them. It was getting hot so we went back to the pool. The pool is gorgeous at HRH. Water slide, walk in beach area with sand... place to eat. Lots of sunny and shady areas. It started to rain so upstairs we went. We then headed to HRC for dinner... taking the boat to Portifino to check it out.... was nice but liked the livelyness of HRH. Took boat back to Citywalk and then another to HRH. Went to lobby where there was music videos being shown.
Mon. Back to US to AMityville.... JAWS/Earthquake/Kong/twister. caught the Blues brothers/ Stunt show/Ghostbusters.
went back for a swim. Ate at Margaritaville alot of fun. Then the hotel was showing Harry Potter in the lobby(pillows and blankets provided.
Tues. Went on adventure of a lifetime Discovery Cove.... we got there at 8:15 and had a dolphin swim at 9:30. It is such a beuatiful place everything was welll done from checkin to the complimentary picture. There were only 7 people in our group and the dolphin towed each of us back to shore. Of cource we bought two additional pictures. Then it was off to snorkeling on the reef and the lazy river around the park as well as the bird aviary. The lunch was spectular salmon to hot dogs and everything in between.Make reservations early.
Weds. IOA. arrived after an AM at the pool. IOnce we were inside the skies opened up and there was steady rain.... saw a few shows but mostly walked around. Due to my sons condition the rollercoaster are out of the ?.
No problem enjoyed watching.
Thurs. Hung out by the pool. Went to Pastamore for dinner....
Really very good food. Then walked thru the park at night very pretty.
Fri. Seaworld part of the DC admission was for unlimited access to Seaworld went to see dolphin show/Shamu/Speedboat show/ and sea lion shows and then it was too hot to continue. So we left and went back to the pool. Took boat to RPH it is very nice and large.. the common rooms were very nice and the pool was beautiful.
Movie Dive in (movie by the pool where you can watch from a raft) was moved to the lobby because of rain. Big Daddy was a huge success. We picked up a pizza and dessert and ate while watching the movie.
Sat... all good things must end.
HRH.... is just beautiful and very much alive. the staff was friendly and helpful... our room had two Queen beds. a separate sink area. There are coffee makers/irons/boards/safe/hairdryers.
It had a table 2 chairs and an overstuffed chair and ottoman.
The linens were very nice and the beds comfortable. Our room was quite a distance from the elevator so it was a hike. Room cleanup seemed to take until 3 each day but who cares as lomg as you aren't doing it. The cookies and milk from Loews were good 3 dif. types of large bakery cookie. Inside the Sunset Grill is an morning walk up counter with bagels, donuts, cinnimon buns coffe and juice Sweets appear midday as well as Eamck and Builios ice cream. It was a great time in spite of having to wear or carry rain ponchos every day... make the best of it. Any rainy day on vacation is better than a day at work...
