Here is my report from Day 2 of my recent vacation to WDW. Thanks for all who rwasd & gave feedback on my first post. I appreciate it!:)

We woke up around 7:30 in the morning for our day at MK. The park was open late & ther ewas Spectomagic & fireworks tyhat night. After a quick breakfast in the room, we headed to the bus (which wass stopping in front of the lobby instead of the regular depot due to some repaving). We decided to drive to all parks except MK, since from what I'd heard Disney transport was much simpler to there. We got to MK around 8:45. Saw the openeing of the park, w/Mickey & plas @the RR station. Very nice. They let us in & we were off to Tomorrowland. We waited at the rope there for a few minutes, then we headed w/the crownd to Space Mountain. Lots of people also headed right for Buzz. We wealked onto the ride (although my older sister chickened out when she saw each car was signmle rider only). My dad (who's 67) rode & enjoyed it, except he got a little battered on the curves:rolleyes:

After that we were off to Buzz. I didn't enjoy it too much - I like a little more story on my rides. I swear it had nothing to do w/the fact that my younger sister beat me! :p After leaving Buzz, we looke around & saw what was essentially an empty park, so I disregarded the touring itinerary I worked on before leaving. We did the treacups, then Snow White, Peter Pan, & IASM. We were stuck in the next-to-last room there (where all the kids are wearing white) while they either loaded or unloaded a guest in a wheelchair. Song was imnprinted on my brain. All the FDantasyland rides were walk-ons.

We then hreaded into Liberty Square. Originally we were going to head right for Splash Mountain, but the small crownds, and 5 minute posted wait time at HM made us go there 1st. We enjoyed it tremendously, althopught the CM working at thge entrance was a little lame. Too nerdish to do the act right. After that we headed for Splash Mountain. 10 minute wait posted. That was great. I think it's the best ride (maybe tied w/ToT at MGM) at WDW. My dad enjoyed it, he'd never been on before. His last trip to WDW was in '81. We then rode BTMRR. Also fun, also no real wait. Even though the qeue seems backed up, the loine keeps moving.

After that, we decided it was time for luch. It wqass about 11:30 & we had 5:30 PS at Kona Cafe, so we went for a light meal. My younger sister & I headed for the bakery on Main St. Wre both had the veggie & hummus wrap. I liked it, she didn't. She ate 1/4 of it & her whole brownie w/marshmallows. I had a nice Mickey bundt cake for dessert. :teeth: Very uncrowded place to go for lunch.

Eventually we met back up w/my dad & other sister (after not being able to reach them on the cell phoen for almost 1/2 an hour). Rode JC - posted 20 minute wait, was much less. Fun, but glad I did this before AK. The we went to PoC, which is still a great ride, also not a big wait, and this was around 1:00-1:30 in the afternoon. After that we hit the Tiki Birds. It was OK, but the more Iago references how boring the show is, the more the people believe it.

After the birds, we were hot & tired & decided to head back to the hotel to rest, shower, & change before dinner. Stopped for a Dole Whip on the way out. Yum! Got irritated by the Alladin ride's placement in Adventureland - it really takes up too much speace & causes bad logjams.

We got back to the hotel, refilled our mugs. I took a good 15-20 minute power nap, then showered, grabvewd my cell (to call my GF) & camera & walked around the resort to get a good look at it. POR is really nicely themed. It's good that they put that much effort into their "moderate" resorts & don't save it all for the deluxes. Spoke w/my GF very quickly, as she had another seminar to go to.

Everyone was ready to head out again by 4:45 & we headed to the bus. It arrived shortly therafter & we were at the MK stop in about 15 minutes. We then got on the resort monorail to get to the Poly. I've thought the CR w/the monorail entering the atrium lobby was so cool ever since my 1st treip to WDW when I was 5. It was still, cool going in that way. I think I'll stay there next trip. But only a tower room. We got to the Poly right at 5:30, and realized that we didn't need the PS. Restaurant was empty. Kona Cafe was very nice, but you have to not mind being open to the lobby (and the monorail station entrance) w/all the noise. We has a great meal. I had the salmon. My younger sister had the seared Ahi tuna, which was fantastic. We shared a kiddie kone & the banana creme brule for dessert. Both were great.

We then headed back to the MK for the evening. We got on the RR & headed over to Toontown. Saw Mickey & Minney's houses. Very cute. Poked around in the big shop there. I forget what it's called. After shopping a little (my dad started his pin collecting craze there) we headed over to Libery Square, as it was approaching 8:00. We missed thre last HoP show, som we decided to stake out spots to view SPectromagic. We decided on a palce right by the corner where it enters from Fantasyland & turns to go to Frontierland. My sisters poked around in the LS shops for a while, then around 8:30, we all line up fpor the parade. It got to us a little after 9:00. Parade was very good, although I still don't know what theose creatures at the beginning are supposed to be.

After the parade, we went back to the pathwaty to FL near the HM. We hung out right in front of the Carrousel to watch the fireworks. Now, we saw a ton of cure kids on this trip, but the cutest thing we saw was when they give the spiel about how Tink will only appear if everyone believes, etc., a girl maybve 5-7 yrs old right next to us started holding her hands together & praying for her to show up. Anyway, we wathced the fireworks, and made a slow exit from the park, tring to avoid the mad rush. Didn't help. Got to the bus stop around 10:00. As bad as our stop was, the line for CBR was 10 times worse. :earseek: Glad I wasn't heading back there that night. We were back at the hotel by 10:45 that night. MAde a quick call to my GF & then headed right to bed, because the next day we were headed to Epcot & EE.

Best thing: Splash Mountain
Worst thing: Nothing really - maybe the wait for the bus at the end of the night

With the light crowds you were able to get lots done today - fun for all - thanks for posting!

I would sure like to visit MK just once and have light crowds but unfortunately we can only go during the summer. Glad you liked POR. We will be staying there for the first time this summer.

POR was great. The architecture & landscaping were really incredible.:D

Oh, and bump. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jester:

Sounds like smooooth sailing on this day! I laughed at the part where you said your Dad caught the pin craze....my DGD8 got it too. I thought about staying at POR once but it looks sooo much like Lexington, KY where I live. I used to live in an apartment complex that looks just like the Mansions. I'm not saying that it's not beautiful, it is, but when I'm on vacation I like some different scenery, ya know. Off to read more!

Sounds like a good day! I guess your sister is more of a wus than your dad!!

Jennymouse - luckily I'll never have that problem. I doubt that Disney will ever come up w/a resort that looks like Long Island. :D

dec - yeah, she's a little more scared than dad. She tried TT at Epcot after we vouched for it, but she refused to go on ToT & RnR at MGM, and Alien Enocunter at MK.
