Trip Report - 2/8 - Birthday for DD, OKW and Hilton

Hi Just got back TONIGHT from a week at Disney. It was great! BUT for the first time EVER, I was actually READY to leave! We just did so much it was crazy. We got in on Friday and hit MK ALLLLL Day - it was my daughter's 8th bday celebration and the staff was really very kind. Several extra trips on SOARIN at Epoct and a few extra first in lines, etc. when they noticed the bday button. We stayed at OKW for the latter half of the trip and Hilton at Downtown Disney for two nights earlier in the trip. Hilton was very nice. No complaints. OKW very nice too. Had to change rooms though b/c they put us right on the freeway and all I heard ALLLLL Night were buses going by! We dined at Prime Time, Chef Mickeys and Tony's Town Square. All three places were great on the bday celebration. I am not a huge eater so I don't really post much about food, etc. All i can say is it was good and we loved it! We spent a TON of time this year at Epcot. My daughter did it all and she is not really that daring of a person but wow, we were at epcot A LOT. Much more so than MK and we of course were at MGM A ton with STar Tours, etc. FINALLY found Darth Vadar. In fact, no one would tell us exactly WHEN he would be there. Something to do with George Lucas Films, etc. they can't put it on a schedule, etc. But a nice guy at Guest Relations noticed her bday button and got the schedule that night and called us with when he was due back the following day. VERY NICE to do b/c they close his line SO quickly (darth vadars) and it was disappointing when we kept missing him! Couple of staff people gave my daughter a free pin for her lanyard and OKW had a nice balloon bouquet and photo. HOWEVER disney needs to get a grip with the pillows they supply in their rooms. I requested a feather pillow but they were all gone the first night but did show up the second night and onward but the original pillows are AWFUL. We never used bus transportation so I can't comment on that...Line ques were NOTHING. I only had to FP Soarin - anything else was walk on or under 10 minute wait. We also did GATORLAND - my daughter loved it! Very campy, etc. - but a lot of fun for her and a nice break from RIDING.... All in all an awesome trip! Would recommend Hilton, OKW with no problem.
