Hi, wanted to report how it went at DL and DCA today.

My sister and I arrived at the main gates at 9:30. There was a HUGE line to get in, and we wondered if it was only because of the park opening. We decided to go through DTD to the Monorail entrance to Tomorrowland. That was a 20 minute wait for the next train, so I took the time go sign up for a Safari Club Card at the Rain Forest Café.

After boarding the Monorail and getting into Tomorrowland, we ran to Space Mountain at around 10:30. It said a 25 minute wait in Stand-by, but a wandering CM shouted it was really 45 minutes. Screw that. We then jumped OUT of Stand-by and went to get a Fast Pass to return between 2:10-3:10 p.m.!

Next, it was off to see the line for Matterhorn Tomorrowland side past Club Buzz. The line started in view of Club Buzz, so we skipped that! We headed to Sleeping Beauty Castle and into Fantasyland to see Peter Pan. Absolute crazy long line as usual, another one to forget about! We then took the side entrance into Frontierland to see if the crowds made it to BTMR by that time. They did and the line was all the way out of the main line entrance. And with the Space Mountain Fast Pass, we couldn't get a second one until 12:30.

We turned and made our way to New Orleans Square to jump on POTC. It was only a small wait and we were inside rather quickly. The parrot near the flag is still gone and the POTC logo didn't light up on the rock. It was very sad to see. We waited an additional five minutes or so near the boarding zone because they were loading some handicapped people. By then, it was after 11:30 in the morning. We left to go see the line for Indiana Jones, which said a 30 minute wait. We continued walking to go take a look at the crowds of DCA.

First arriving in DCA, I took photos of the Golden Gate Bridge (after hearing it's going away) and then we went to check on the line for Mike and Sulley to the Rescue. It was a 55 minute wait in the sun and we didn't want to do that. We headed to Soarin' Over California and that had a 40 minute wait. Forget it! We ended up going through GC to get to RFC to have some lunch around noon. We were seated right away and I got to use my new Safari Club Card. Joy!

After lunch, we got back on the Monorail into Tomorrowland and headed this time straight to Matterhorn again. At this time, the ride broke down and we continued to walk to Toon Town. Roger Rabbit had a 45 minute wait, so we immediately turned right back out and decided to head to New Orleans Square again! We walked through Fantasyland on the way and it was wall to wall people. Some lady with a stroller next to us said, "Jeez, even Dumbo is crowded! You know it's bad when Dumbo's crowded!"

Walking through Frontierland, we saw BTMR still had a long line. Don't know why we bothered to look! POTC had a bigger line, so we turned left to Adventureland to jump in line for Indiana Jones. It was still a 30 minute wait in Stand-by, but because it was in the cool shade, we dealt with it.

After that, it was about time to return to Space Mountain at 2:10. At around 2:20, we got as far as the upper balcony just before the loading zone when all of a sudden, there was a high-pitched beeping sound and all the lights came on! We could see the tracks, no one could board, the ride had come to a halt! Why? Someone once said on here that if the loading takes longer than 10 seconds, the ride automatically shuts itself down and won't turn back on for another 20 minutes. It's true. It really happens. Basically, you'd better get your butt in that seat ASAP or you'll cause the ride to stop! I kept looking to my watch; we had to leave at 3 p.m. to get to Vista to pick up our mom at work. It takes about an hour to get there and she gets off work everyday at 5. We wanted this to be our last ride before leaving, IF we got the chance! The good news was the ride started up again and we did get to ride as well as fit in Star Tours since there wasn't a line.

We left the park around 3:10, got on the freeway by 3:30 and got to Mom's work by 4:30. So, we rode a total of 4 rides today. POTC, Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, and Star Tours. On a Thursday. WHAT IS THE DEAL?! Well, while in line for Indiana Jones, a nice gentleman in front of us explained that the schools in the area are on different tracks. For example President's Day is extended a full week off for some schools. That's why we saw so many teens out of school.

And that's it! Fun, eh?

Wow, what a day. Who woulda thunk DL would be so busy today? Thanks for posting.

Where did you hear that the Golden Gate bridge is leaving? I have never heard that, especially since the monorail goes right through it. Say it ain't so!
