Well, where shall I start.

After a late start to the airport and dealing with that stress we made it into Orlando just fine. We used MH Transportation instead if DME and they were awesome. They even picked us up mid-week for a day trip to Universal.

Our first room at the BWV was a 1 bedroom boardwalk view which was located about 72 miles from the lobby. Room 5001 - top right corner....just below the last wave on the Crested Wave building near Jelly Rolls. This was our first Boardwalk view experiance. I've read many saying that these rooms are loud and such...I kind of fluffed this off. But guess what your right. Even on the 5th floor I could hear coversations outside of Jelly Rolls. There was one night that a shouting match started at about 2:30 AM. The room was in great shape, new sleeper sofa and very clean. No complaints there at all......The kids did like sitting on the patio and looking at the Epcot Ball.

The last part of our stay we moved into a 2 bedroom so my in laws could stay with us. This was a prefferred view overlooking the Luna park pool. The room was not very clean and the wife let me know. There was toothpaste all over the sink and even on the bath vanity. Bathrooms were so so. The bifold for the laundry was barely hanging on. But to me these are minor things and we cleaned them up. The kicker for this room is that again it was the 5th floor, room 5076-5078. We could hear the motors for the elevators especially at night. Up and Down....sounded like some one drilling slowly into a piece of wood.

I figured I would give some of the negatives. But we did enjoy ourselves, it is Disney after all.

For those of you planning a trip and needing to rent a double wide stroller....Disney is now selling Koolcraft strollers. It was cheaper for me to buy 2 strollers for the week then it would have been to rent a double wide.
Also I have a question about the motorize carts that were everywhere. Do you need a handicap or doctors note to rent one. I saw more people on those carts then ever. Hopefully this doesn't sound harsh, but 75% of those on them were lazy. I saw a family of 3, each with a cart stop get off and basically run to the bathroom. With limited numbers of them, I assume, this could mean that a person that does need one may not get one.

Thanks for the report....sounds like you started out 72 miles from the elevators and ended up right next to them!!

Sorry to hear about the second room being not so clean. And my guess is your DW "let you know" about it since you had in-laws with you at that time (her side?).

I don't know that there are any requirements to renting an ECV. But your point is well made that as America continues to age (okay the boomers continue to age), there will definitely be an increase in those ECVs in the parks. Maybe they'll have to start painting "bicycle lanes" on all the walking paths? :)

And of course, in several year you'll read here about how there just aren't enough HA rooms to go around.

I try to give the ECV riders the benefit of the doubt, as I do those who park in HA spaces in general. We just don't know what the reason for their using one and sometimes it's not very apparent.

Of course, no matter what, they should exercise polite movement on the walking paths the same as anyone else.

I'm glad your trip was an enjoyable one, and thanks for sharing the info about your accommodations. :)

Boy I thought it was just us with the elevators. We stayed in 5068/5070 . . .11/5-11. 5068 (aka the headboard of our bed) backed up to the elevators. My parents didn't hear the noise in their room so we assumed it was just us and thought being close to the elevators was more important for my parents. We also had a studio in east jibip for one night 11/4 (5015 which is probably a little less than 700 miles from the elevators!) So being close to the elevators was appealing for us, too. I wonder if you can hear it on the entire 5th floor. This was our first stay on that floor.

I think that getting a bathroom with left over toothpaste here and there is gross. We shouldn't have to deal with that, but you did, and crisis was over. Good!

I thought that the 5th floor was preferred by many here. We've never sprung for BWV BW view points, I was thinking about doing that sometimes.

We had 2 wheelchairs in our group of 9 people. Neither of the ladies would have been able to maneuver an ECV. Getting an ECV would sure be easier on the ones who get to push! I guess with the graying of America more of these are going to be around. I'm inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt as well, but they should be very careful as they go, and that's not always the case.

I'm glad you did have a nice time! Thanks for telling us about it.

Bobbi :)

I've been in the one bedroom right next door (5003 I think??) and yes the clubbers woke me up every morning around 2 - 3 am. But the view is so worth it! Glad you enjoyed your trip!!
